🎩 Dickens of a Christmas is a Christmas market held in Olney each year on the first Sunday in December. 10am - 4pm. This year the Market will be held on Sunday 7th December 2025.

Stall holders to dress in Victorian clothes.
There is also Christmas Tree Festival held in St Peter and St Paul open for all to visit free.
Also open this day is the Olney Centre and Carlton Club with indoor stalls organised separately. Stalls in market place, high street.

Our Frosty Fairies have arrived and they can’t wait to sprinkle some Christmas magic as they bring the classic “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” to life in a fun, family-friendly performance!
This year we’re spreading the festive cheer in the beautiful larger end garden of The Cowper and Newton Museum, plenty of space to watch the show, get involved, and enjoy the atmosphere. Even better? Garden entry is FREE to watch the performances. Plus you can cosy up with a warm drink from the museum courtyard while you enjoy the show!

We kindly ask that residents do not gather at Sainsbury's this year, as the car park is closed, and with over 100 tractors arriving it can be quite unsafe! Instead we suggest wrapping up warm, finding a good viewing spot along the route, and enjoying the run from there!

🚂 Take a 25-minute steam-train ride over a historic narrow-gauge railway that’s more than 100 years old, and run by enthusiastic volunteers. Please note that our Santa trains only operate between Page's Park Station and Leedon Loop over our suburban section of track, and trains do not travel to Stonehenge Works or Munday's Hill.

Children will make their own natural Christmas decoration in the Visitor Centre, before meeting Santa’s Elf in their workshop, and Santa himself in his beautiful traditional cabin.

There are two ticket types available; “Family” and open “Group” sessions. You can request a Quiet Session on any ticket type at the time of booking. You can book tickets via the event link. Tickets must be made in advance.
