That’s why our Outdoor Learning Team runs Tree Tots, a weekly 50-minute nature play session that enables you and your little ones to join in all kinds of outdoor fun alongside other children, parents and carers.

👩‍🍳 WHAT TO EXPECT
Tree Tots offers a range of seasonal activities designed just for under-5s. You’ll get to join in all kinds of fun things that connect you and your little one with nature – from ‘cooking’ in mud kitchens, balancing on ropes and swinging in hammocks to playing with water, exploring the woods and collecting natural treasure.

📍WHERE/WHEN IT TAKES PLACE
Taking place in a dedicated area of Howe Park Wood every Thursday at 10am (Winter) or 10am and 11am (Summer).

Tree Tots takes place in all weathers (unless it’s very extreme) because we believe that children should have the opportunity to experience the wild outdoors – whether that’s rain, wind, sun or snow. Please come dressed appropriately for the weather.

Meet like-minded role-playing game fans, in a welcoming & friendly space. Whether you’re brand new or levelling up your skills; we’ll explore creating detailed and engaging backstories, character goals, flaws/weaknesses and how characters fit into a shared story.

~ RPG and D&D newbies
~ Building role-playing confidence
~ New character creations & enhancing existing characters
~ Helping DM’s to understand their players
~ D&D fans looking for an in-between session fix!

This event focuses on the storytelling side of characters for a varied RPG rules set - rather than the rules, stats and numbers side. We will have pre-generated 2024 edition D&D character sheets available.

Everyone is welcome - we focus on inclusive, relaxed play that supports social connection and mental well‑being.
No Role-Playing Game experience needed - no public speaking expected.

We’ll be open 10am–5pm (Tues–Sat) and 10am–4:30pm (Sun) with plenty to keep the whole family entertained! Last entry is 30 minutes before closing time.

For all you dog lovers and owners... yes! we do accept dogs at Johnsons, though we ask for you to keep them on a lead at all times.

To maintain affordable zoo prices and ensure the well-being of our animals, we encourage customers to dine in our tea room or steakhouse during their visit. Keeping our zoo prices low is essential to make it accessible to families with lower incomes.

♿️ ACCESSIBILITY
We strive to be wheelchair accessible. We provide disabled parking next to our farm shop and in front of the steakhouse entrance. Accessible toilets are available in both the steakhouse and tea room. Additionally, we have gravel paths throughout our zoo and woodland walk to facilitate wheelchair access.
