So much fun – whatever the weather!
Whatever age they are, children will have a fantastic time in Shaggy’s PlayWorld, with its massive playframe packed with fun things to do!

Daily Activities, Adorable Animals and Farmyard Favourites. Meet, feed and learn about all your favourite farm animals at Mead Open Farm. Get up close with the rabbits during Bunny Hop, hand feed some goats in their undercover barn, groom one of the ponies during Pony Grooming, bottle feed their lambs and say hello to the cows, pigs and tons of other animals across the farm. You can even see some newborn animals during some seasons!

It’s time for an adventure!
There’s so much to do at Mead Open Farm, whatever the weather! As well as all the animals, the Farm has two huge jumping pillows, an adventure playground, Go-Karts and Crazy Golf, as well as a fantastic sandpit called Digger Village.

🏃‍♀️ The Bedford 5 & 10 mile run is back for 2025! Plus A FREE Children’s Fun Run will also take place before the 10 mile start (no need to book, just turn up to registration, and you’re welcome to use it as a warm-up for the main event!)

ℹ️ EVENT DETAILS
This flat, fast, traffic-free and chip timed event is a sure-fire guaranteed way to give you the best chance of a PB over the 5 or 10 mile distance.

The distances are popular with runners early in the year for many reasons. For some its the start of a Spring marathon build up, for others its the unique distance that they like to challenge themselves annually, and for many its simply a winter challenge to provide an early-year target to kick-start their fitness drives.

🏃‍♀️ 5 MILE
This 5mile lap course starts and finishes on the beautiful Bedford Embankment and runs out alongside the flat, tree lined river Ouse. Heading out towards Priory Park on hard standing traffic-free paths, you will loop around the beautiful Priory Lake before traversing the paths alongside the River Ouse and a finish line back on the embankment. The whole route is on traffic-free tarmac or firm paths and with less than 100m of elevation across the whole course its bound to be a crowd pleaser and PB beater.

🏃‍♂️10 MILE
The 10 mile route will bypass the finish area and head out to complete the lap for a second time.

This event is more than just a run. You’ll be welcomed home by a professional commentator and your cheer-squad will be kept fed and watered by quality caterers while you run.

🤩The Land of Lights 2025 was amazing when whatsUp Bedfordshire went as a family! We managed to book early and in doing so we got tickets for £10 each. These have now gone up to around £15pp.

🌟 BLOG OF LAND OF LIGHT IN MILTON KEYNES 2024 BY WHATSUP BEDFORDSHIRE!
Wow what a great Sunday evening we had. We managed to get the early bird tickets for £10pp and this was definitely worth it. We will 💯 be going back next year, the whole family absolutely loved it!

🚶‍♀️♿️ HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO WALK AROUND?
The magical walk took around 1.5 hours with play areas indoor and outdoor for the children to enjoy too! This is fully accessible so great for wheelchairs & pushchairs.

🐐 ANIMALS
You get to walk into the animal barn on your way round where you can see, donkeys, goats, sheep and guinea pigs.

👯‍♀️INDOOR LIGHT SHOW & AN INDOOR PLAY AREA
There is an indoor light show where you will find dancers, this is varied times so ask when you get there if you would like to be pointed in the right direction. Also inside you will find a play area with a slide and hidey holes, another great addition!

🔥TOASTING MARSHMALLOWS
You can book a bag of marshmallows and sticks to your booking for £4.50. To be fair you get quite a lot, you can save money by bringing your own sticks and marshmallows to toast on the fire.

We are delighted to now offer Home Education Sessions at Knotts of Tempsford.
​Each Friday during term time, there will be a new topic to explore, a worksheet to complete and the chance for hands on learning experiences at the farm

Sessions cost £8.50 per Child Learner and £5.00 per Supervising Adult.
