Headlining this spectacular celebration is the one and only Kaiser Chiefs (best known for their songs ‘Ruby’ and ‘I Predict a Riot’). Special guests The Feeling (best known for their songs ‘Fill My Little World,’ ‘Love it When You Call’ and ‘Sewn’) and The Hoosiers (best known for their songs 'Goodbye Mr A' and 'Worried About Ray') will also be lighting up the stage. The much-loved Last Night of the Proms returns to Parson’s Close Recreation Ground, Leighton Buzzard is on Saturday 12 September 2026 from 7pm to 10.30pm.

Enjoy a spectacular evening of live music and Proms favourites, starting with local singer and soprano Lissie Allsopp performing her Best of British set.

One of the UK's most successful songwriters, Mark Chadwick, has co-written 20 chart singles and 6 Top 40 albums (including a Number 1) as part of the Levellers, the band he has fronted for over 25 years. Still going strong, the Levellers are festival favourites and have cemented their cherished status with headline performances at Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight, Cambridge Folk Festival, Bestival and Boomtown and many European and UK events and in 2003 they successfully created their own annual Beautiful Days Festival which takes place in August at Escot Park in Devon.

🚍 Free Daventry Heritage Bus Rides 2026

Once again Northampton Transport Heritage (NTH) will be back for their 5th year running classic buses on old town routes as part of the National Heritage Open Days 2026 celebrations.

▪️𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆: FREE bus rides with optional purchase of a bus brochure which costs £3.
🚍 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧: There will be a variety of classic and heritage vehicles operating FREE bus rides out to the local villages and back to the town centre. You can go on as many bus rides as you wish and even get off, have a walk round and catch the next bus back into town.
There will also be a static display in Market Square that you can look round and enjoy plus take photos.

We will do our best to accommodate everyone, but please remember that most of the buses are from times past so we cannot carry wheelchairs, buggies or prams on the buses. The annual Daventry Foodies Market will also be taking place in the town centre for you to enjoy on the same day as well! Lots of yummy local independent food stalls and free family friendly entertainment.

Buses will depart from outside the Plume of Feather pub on Abbey Street at 10 minute intervals between 10am and 4pm with a static display in Market Square. Buses will be travelling to Badby, Staverton, Braunston, Welton or Ashby St Ledgers and Weedon.

A bus brochure featuring the timetable can be purchased on the day for £3 from the the NTH stand which will be opposite Market Square – in front of Murati’s restaurant/Burton Memorial.

Whilst our heritage buses may not be as accessible as modern vehicles, some are easier to board for those with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) than others, and with that in mind we are thrilled to announce that during Northampton Transport Heritage's visit to Daventry we will have dedicated journeys to those with SEND. These routes are fairly short, calm in terms of traffic and passenger numbers and onboard there will be an even more relaxed atmosphere than usual. Attendees with SEND are of course welcome on every single bus journey of the day and should you need assistance to board or advice about route suitability, our volunteers and drivers are always on hand to help.

⚙️ Stotfold Watermill Opening Day 2026 - Free Entry

🌳 THE NATURE RESERVE
The Nature Reserve is open all year round, except 9th-10th May and 10th-11th October 2026.
📖 HISTORY
Nobody is certain of the exact date, but it is likely that a watermill has stood on the site of the current Stotfold Mill beside the River Ivel for over a thousand years and it is certainly one of the oldest recorded buildings in the town. The first written evidence is the mention of four mills in Stotfold in the Domesday book of 1086. One of those four was the currently-named Stotfold Mill.
