๐ Harpendenโs Christmas Carnival and Light Switch On will take place on Sunday 23rd November 2025 from 12pm-6pm, and promises to be an exciting, festive celebration.
The Town Council is delighted to invite people of all ages to come together to enjoy the Christmas Carnival and all that Harpenden has to offer in its vibrant Town Centre.
๐งโ๐ WHAT TO EXPECT
Included in this yearโs event is Childrenโs entertainment, Christmas workshops, food and drink stalls, outdoor bars and music performances, fair ground rides and much more!

๐ถ Live entertainment will be performed on two stages with community groups and music entertainment performing on both of these. Main Stage performances include Rock Choir, Hurst Childrenโs Theatre, Top Hat, SASA School of Performing Arts, Number 7, Harpenden and Wheathampstead Gang Show and the cast of the Harpenden Panto. We are also delighted to welcome to the Mini Stage: Threefold, Abbie Gathard and the Cheeky Elves Show.
๐ The Christmas Farmersโ Market will be a main feature of the High Street, plus Young Enterprise Stalls and of course Santa will be waiting to see the children in his Grotto!
๐ The Procession will begin at 3pm; from Lydekker Park it will travel along the High Street up to Vaughan Road. With the Pipes and Drums, Santa and his elves, community groups, dancers and entertainers, Brownies and Rainbows and the cast of this yearโs Harpenden Panto.
๐ LIGHT SWITCH ON - 5PM
The Town's Christmas Lights will be switched on at 5pm.

โจ๏ธ Prepare Reindeer Food: In the Magic Stables, Drifter is preparing Rudolph and his friendsโ favourite food. Here the children can fill their own bag of special magic food to take home.
โจ๏ธ Make a wish: Now for that very special moment when you make a wish on Santaโs Wishing Stars โ ssshhh donโt tell anyone!!
โจ๏ธ Meet Santa & Mrs Claus: If thatโs not enough fun, Mrs Claus will invite you into their cozy sitting room to meet Santa himself for a festive story, a present for each child and individual time with him and the opportunity to take that personal photograph of all the family.
โจ๏ธ Take a ride: Outside Rudolph is waiting to say โMerry Christmasโ and see you all, and each child can enjoy a go on Santaโs fairground train ride after which all the family can enjoy some time in our glittering, illuminated Wonderland and climb aboard The Santa Express for more fun and photos.

Tickets are priced at ยฃ15 for adults and ยฃ11 for children under 16 when purchased in advance. If you buy on-site, prices increase to ยฃ16 for adults and ยฃ12 for children.
Families can take advantage of our ice skating bundle ticket for just ยฃ49, which includes ice skating for two adults and two children.
