Organised by the Welwyn Garden City BID, this popular 2-day festival brings together award-winning food traders, world street food, live performances and plenty to keep all ages entertained.

⚔️ Chanz Des Reis return for the annual Festival of History, where nearly 2,000 years of English history are brought vividly to life - from the Romans right through to the Victorians.

Ah, the right question! On arrival, you will get a board of sides (dirty fries, slaw, corn and tater tots) as well as a full board of meats that will include our iconic smoked brisket, Korean BBQ flavoured pork belly, Strips of medium rare steak, pulled pork shoulder and Franks hot sauced chicken wings.

🍽 AND HOW DO I KEEP IT COMING?
We will have a waiter service so just grab one of our staff and tell them what you want and we'll bring it right up! As long as you have finished the current portion of the meat you request! We're not being tight..... Just don't want good BBQ to go to waste!

How do I know you won't run out of BBQ?

Well that's the reason we are doing a pre-sale with tickets so we can ensure we are prepared for you. We imagine an angry meat mob is scary!

What happens after the 2 hour slot? Can I stick around?

You won't be kicked out but you may be moved to another area depending on how busy we are for the next session.

ABOUT...
The plot follows the intertwined lives of several characters, especially Clym Yeobright, a man who returns from Paris with idealistic dreams, and Eustacia Vye, a passionate, restless woman who longs to escape the bleak heath for a more exciting life. The novel explores themes of fate, unfulfilled desire, social constraints, and the power of nature.

​Hotbuckle have delighted us over the years with their adaptations of Great Expectations, David Copperfield, Wuthering Heights, Far from the Madding Crowd, les Miserables, Pride and Prejudice and Emma. We are very much looking forward to welcoming them back!

Enjoy a fantastic array of free ground activities from educational Discovery Zones to a vehicle parade and free fun fair. Take a moment to relax in Swiss Garden or catch a vintage bus to Shuttleworth House – your chance to have a good snoop around a Jacobean style mansion.

Then (the moment we’ve all been waiting for), experience the thrill of a stunning live air display from both visiting and Collection aircraft. With unparalleled flightline views and proximity, this is the closest you’ll get to these incredible aircraft in the UK.

We’ve got food to keep you fuelled, activities to keep the kids happy and a display that is sure to get your heart pumping – what more could you ask for?

✈️ Twinwood Aviation Museum 2026 - Clapham


Time: 10:30 - 16:00

✈️ The museum is open on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays only, from the first Sunday in May to the last Sunday in September 2026.
 
ℹ️ ABOUT
An aviation museum covering the second World War and World War 1 with displays on the RAF and 8th USAAF. Located in the restored Watch Office (Control Tower), the museum showcases a comprehensive collection of photographs documenting Glenn Millers time in the UK.

▪️THE UPPER FLOOR
The upper floor has been meticulously restored to its original wartime configuration, reflecting its history as a RAF night fighter training school. The museum also features an Aviation Museum, boasting an impressive array of artifacts recovered from wartime crash sites, as well as uniforms and memorabilia from World War 2.
We also have a special exhibition on World War 1.

▪️HOME FRONT MUSEUM
Our Home Front display transports visitors back to the 1940's with a recreated street scene and living room.

Additionally, the museum is home to a faithfully reproduced wartime fire station, complete with authentic firefighting equipment. The former armoury houses a unique collection of British and Axis uniforms, equipment, and vehicles including a restored 1/4 scale ME 109 fighter.

Our small Toy Museum features a working H0.00 model railway and a selection of
vintage toys.

The NAAFI Tea Room, will be open , serving hot and cold beverages, cakes and snacks during operating hours.

The crucial thing to remember is that you can only access the museum via Twinwood Road, which in turn can only be accessed from a roundabout on Milton Road in the village of Clapham.

These co-ordinates will take you to the Milton Road/Twinwood Road roundabout, and from there up to the Twinwood Road for just over ½ mile and you will see the museum entrance on the right.

🛡 Milton Keynes History Festival 2026 - Milton Keynes Museum

⚔️ Chanz Des Reis return for the annual Festival of History, where nearly 2,000 years of English history are brought vividly to life - from the Romans right through to the Victorians.

This year, they’ll be recreating life during The Anarchy in 1141, just three months after local knight William Kahamnes (William de Keynes) helped capture King Stephen at the Battle of Lincoln. Support for the Empress Matilda may be high… but will it last?

Perfect for families, history lovers and anyone looking for unique things to do near Bedfordshire, this immersive event features living history encampments, arena displays and hands-on activities across the museum grounds.

Meet Romans, Saxons, medieval knights, Civil War soldiers, Suffragettes and more, with around 100 re-enactors appearing across the weekend. Expect interactive storytelling, demonstrations and plenty for children to get involved with too.
