🌺 From the first Wednesday in May to the last in September 2026, we open the doors of the Walled Garden, Luton and welcome visitors to our unique Capability Brown designed walled garden and its unique service buildings.
🌹 WHAT TO EXPECT
Entrance includes a fascinating tour of the walled garden and visitors are encouraged to break their visit with a picnic or a visit to the Woodyard Café. The garden is best enjoyed at a snail’s pace, entrance is for all day! Notice boards and displays are updated throughout the season allowing fascinating insight into the garden’s rich history.
♿️ ACCESSIBILITY
Every effort has been made to make the garden accessible to as many visitors as possible. With that in mind we have recently finished resurfacing the area around the sundial making it far easier for wheeled access. However, due to the age and rich history of the garden there are some areas that are not accessible by wheelchair. Please inform members of the Walled Garden Project at the entrance and every effort will be made to provide an alternative route, provide commentary on the area, or help with pushing if there are volunteers available. Disabled toilets are available within the conservatory.

✨️ The 26th Diwali Winter Festival of Lights returns on Saturday 31st October 2026 from 10am-8pm at Northampton Market Square.

🤩 WHAT TO EXPECT
Join the celebrations with cultural food and drink, community stalls, live stage entertainment, henna painting, arts and crafts, saree dressing and the spectacular Diwali lantern procession and magical parade, featuring breathtaking giant puppets including Harminder the elephant
🕐 1PM - 8PM
Visitors can enjoy henna painting, saree dressing and stalls, along with cultural food and drink and live stage entertainment from 12pm – 8pm.
🕕 6PM - PARADE
At 6pm, the enchanting, breathtaking light parade will make its way through the town centre and finish at the Market Square, followed by more celebrations.
We look forward to welcoming you to this magical event, organised by the IHWO Northampton and supported by the Town Council, West Northamptonshire Council and Northampton Town Centre BID alongside University of Northampton Grosvenor Shopping Northampton Inspiration Arts Inspiration 107.8 FM Stage Right Productions Royal & Derngate and Northampton College.
