The Luton Turkish Festival is a much-loved annual event in the UK, celebrating the rich culture, traditions, and values of Türkiye. Once again, we are excited to welcome you for a joyful day full of culture, food, and community spirit.
Organised by the Luton Turkish Education and Culture Centre, with the support of our sponsors, TurkFest brings together people from all backgrounds to enjoy the colourful world of Turkish culture.
There is something for everyone to enjoy, including:
✨️Delicious Turkish food and regional specialities
✨️Mehter band (Ottoman military band) performances
✨️A traditional Oba tent showcasing Ottoman history, beys, and alps
✨️Ottoman-style costumes, handmade textiles, and Ebru (marbling) art
✨️Fun animation shows with children’s favourite characters
✨️Turkish classical music, including ney and oud performances
✨️Live shows by traditional folk poets (âşıks)
✨️Traditional Turkish folk dances
✨️Live concerts by surprise guest artists
✨️Hymns and theatre performances by children from our centre
✨️Freshly made Turkish coffee and Turkish delight
✨️Sweet and savoury treats like cotton candy, paper halva, bici bici, corn, and kumpir
✨️Safe and fun play areas for children
Every year, we welcome 5,000 to 10,000 visitors from Luton, across the UK, and from many different cultures.

🚜 Vintage Vehicles Rally 2026 - Leighton Buzzard Railway

🌟 WHAT TO EXPECT
If you love classic motoring, historic vehicles and a great local day out, this popular Bedfordshire event is well worth adding to your diary. From 10am, visitors can enjoy around 100 vintage and classic vehicles on display, including cars, buses, commercial vehicles, military vehicles, motorbikes and other service vehicles.
There’ll also be plenty of stalls to browse, making it a great place to pick up books, memorabilia and other interesting finds while soaking up the friendly rally atmosphere at the railway.

There is no charge for entry to the rally for exhibitors or visitors, although donations are very welcome.
🚂 TRAIN RIDES - EXTRA CHARGE
The Leighton Buzzard Railway will also be running trains throughout the day, with departures every 70 minutes from 10:30am to 3:10pm. It’s the perfect chance to combine the vehicle rally with a relaxing steam train trip.

Join in at Parson’s Close Recreation Ground for a season of free outdoor concerts, running from June to September 2026. Taking place on Sunday afternoons at 3pm, these performances showcase a vibrant mix of brass, silver, jazz and popular bands - there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

🇺🇲 🇬🇧 306th Bombardment Group Museum - Thurleigh, Bedfordshire

ℹ️ ABOUT THE MUSEUM
The Museum is a memorial dedicated to the personnel of the 306th Bomb Group who operated from Thurleigh during WW2, as part of the Eighth Air Force 40th Combat Wing, 1st Air Division.
The Museum is an original building formally used by the 306th BG as a Small Arms Ammunition store.
We use it today to display artefacts to re-create the activities and atmosphere of the airfield and surrounding areas during the war years, as well as honour all those that lost their lives.

⚙️ Stotfold Watermill Opening Day 2026 - Free Entry

🌳 THE NATURE RESERVE
The Nature Reserve is open all year round, except 9th-10th May and 10th-11th October 2026.
📖 HISTORY
Nobody is certain of the exact date, but it is likely that a watermill has stood on the site of the current Stotfold Mill beside the River Ivel for over a thousand years and it is certainly one of the oldest recorded buildings in the town. The first written evidence is the mention of four mills in Stotfold in the Domesday book of 1086. One of those four was the currently-named Stotfold Mill.

We are open from 2.30pm to 5.00pm on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays and at other times by appointment.
🎟 TICKET COST: FREE
At present entrance is free but we rely upon donations from visitors to keep the museum open and suggest at least £2.50 per adult.
👨👩👧👦 GROUP VISITS
Parties and special visits can be arranged at any mutually convenient time. Groups of any size or age can be accommodated at a time to suit you by prior arrangement. Group visits can include a guided walk around the village. The cost for a combined walk and museum visit is £6.00 per person.
