This summer, with the help of our trusted pet care advisors, little pet lovers can set off on an adventure into responsible pet ownership.
Each week brings a new theme, helping children discover everything pets need to feel safe, happy, and healthy. From food and treats to grooming, exercise, and habitats, children will learn fun new facts while building confidence along the way.
Children can enjoy hands-on games and activities, plus the opportunity to meet our furry friends.
📜 What they'll earn
We'll present your pet lover with an official Pet Pals certificate & sticker, along with colouring sheets to keep the fun going at home.
🧒 For pet lovers aged 4-10 years
Our workshops are specifically geared towards younger children, with content and activities that are safe, supervised and most of all fun. To allow enough room for everyone (and avoid spooking our animals), places are limited to one adult per child.

Taking place at Thorn Park, Houghton Regis, this special community event features a huge inflatable park, food and refreshments, and entertainment for all ages. The music, BBQ, bar and general festival atmosphere will continue throughout the evening. Bring a chair, picnic blanket, friends and family, and enjoy the day with us.

⚙️ Stotfold Watermill Opening Day 2026 - Free Entry

🌳 THE NATURE RESERVE
The Nature Reserve is open all year round, except 9th-10th May and 10th-11th October 2026.
📖 HISTORY
Nobody is certain of the exact date, but it is likely that a watermill has stood on the site of the current Stotfold Mill beside the River Ivel for over a thousand years and it is certainly one of the oldest recorded buildings in the town. The first written evidence is the mention of four mills in Stotfold in the Domesday book of 1086. One of those four was the currently-named Stotfold Mill.

ℹ️ ABOUT THE MUSEUM
The Museum is a memorial dedicated to the personnel of the 306th Bomb Group who operated from Thurleigh during WW2, as part of the Eighth Air Force 40th Combat Wing, 1st Air Division.
The Museum is an original building formally used by the 306th BG as a Small Arms Ammunition store.
We use it today to display artefacts to re-create the activities and atmosphere of the airfield and surrounding areas during the war years, as well as honour all those that lost their lives.
