We believe that it is our responsibility to re-pay the community for all the support
we’ve enjoyed over 25 years. So we have always made it our responsibility
to help charities with a special offer. We don’t give money but help them to help
themselves by giving them a very special deal on the price of a pitch. We particularly like having the smaller charities with us. For instance every year a husband and wife raise money for a special school to have an outing and any money left over is used towards much-needed equipment. 🌳 THE NATURE RESERVE
The Nature Reserve is open all year round, except 9th-10th May and 10th-11th October 2026.
📖 HISTORY
Nobody is certain of the exact date, but it is likely that a watermill has stood on the site of the current Stotfold Mill beside the River Ivel for over a thousand years and it is certainly one of the oldest recorded buildings in the town. The first written evidence is the mention of four mills in Stotfold in the Domesday book of 1086. One of those four was the currently-named Stotfold Mill.

There is an opportunity to join a new volunteer group meeting every month to work alongside the Park Rangers and undertake a variety of conservation tasks.

🏵 SNOWDROP FLOWERS
Snowdrops are closely associated with remembrance so you may want to plant snowdrops in memory of a loved one and be part of a larger community effort. The bulbs will flower early next year, 200 years after Lord and Lady Holland planted the double Lime Avenue. This will form part of the Alameda’s 200th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

The park team will be on site to provide tools and show you what to do. If you are interested in the Conservation volunteering, we will explain our plans and provide information.
