Our nature rubbing trail features native animals, fun facts and encourages young ones to walk in nature whilst getting creative with crayons.
Come to the visitor centre for your trail and crayons, and then show a visitor services team member your completed trail to get a sticker. Please note that this trail does extend beyond our most accessible paths. If you have any concerns please do ask when picking up your trail.
Not only does this offer a fun time for the family, it also raises vital funds for the environmental charity who run Rushmere, namely The Greensand Trust.

🐻 May Half Term Wildlife Trail 2026 - Dunstable Downs

Children will complete fun, simple activities and learn about each animal and the important role they play in keeping the Downs thriving.
📍MEETING POINT
Come to our visitor hub in the courtyard outside our visitor centre where our team will give you all the information you need and you can collect your trail sheets.

💦 Aqua Park Session (ages 6+) - Box End Park, Kempston
Time: 11:00 - 15:00
▪️Must be aged 6yrs + and over 1.1m tall (110cm+)

Our Aqua Park is suitable for all ages 6yrs+ and over 1.1m tall. The ultimate outdoor watersports experience for families & groups - climb, leap, bounce & splash your way around both inflatable courses packed with fun obstacles. Explore 2 giant courses during your session (rotating after 30-mins) - twice the fun for the same price! How long will you stay dry?
🧦 Grip socks (or soft-sole water shoes) are optional, but recommended for extra comfort and grip. Socks are available to buy on the day. Wetsuits are also optional, but recommended & can hired on the day or pre-booked.
🏊♂️ Participants must be able to swim at least 50 metres while wearing a buoyancy aid and be comfortable falling into open water.
👨👧👦 Children aged 6-9yrs must be accompanied by an adult on the Aqua Park aged 17yrs+ (1 adult : 3 kids ratio).
👨👦Child Supervision Policy:
For the safety and wellbeing of all guests, children aged 16 years and under must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult (aged 17 years or over) at all times while on site.
🕙 Arrival Times:
Please check-in at least 45 minutes before your session. This gives you time to check-in at reception, kit up & attend the group safety briefing (10-mins before). If you’re running late, we’ll do our best to get you onto your booked session, but this may require re-scheduling to the next available session or day.
🌧 Cancellations & Weather:
All bookings are non-refundable. However, if you notify us more than 7 working days prior to your scheduled session, we’ll be happy to discuss rescheduling your booking or issuing a credit for future use.
In the event of extreme weather conditions - such as lightning, high winds or flooding - Box End Park may need to cancel sessions for safety reasons. Should this occur, we will offer the option to reschedule your booking or provide a credit.

🌸 Welly Boot Flower Fun - The Kings Reach, Biggleswade

🌸 EVENT DETAILS
As we’re unable to plant many flowers directly into the ground, we’ve come up with a fun recycling idea using children’s welly boots as planters and hanging them along the fence to make the garden bright and colourful.
This will also create a lovely environment for mini beasts and bees.

The event is free, just be ready to get a little muddy and have some fun!

🎨 Art In The Garden - Stockwood Discovery Centre, Luton

🌸 EVENT DETAILS
Your children are invited to step outside and explore the landscape within Stockwood Discovery Centre, discovering plants, flowers, soil and animals in nature.
Through guided activity, they will take inspiration from the world outside and create paintings using eco-friendly paints made from natural materials, as well as make sculptures from materials found in the grounds.
This workshop is perfect for curious and creative minds, and is a hands-on look into creativity through sustainability, celebrating the colours and textures found in the nature all around us.
