It’s a charming family day out with vintage steam engines, extra activities and plenty for little ones to enjoy. Best of all, children who bring a teddy bear can travel FREE!
🕥 TRAINS & TIMES
Trains will run to the railway’s blue timetable, with a choice of five trains during the day starting from 10:30am. Your journey lasts around 90 minutes and takes you along a historic three-mile narrow-gauge line that’s been delighting visitors for over 100 years.
🚂 WHAT TO EXPECT
Before your train departs from Page’s Park, keep an eye out for the railway’s resident bears and their friends around the station. Then climb aboard for a steam-hauled trip through the Bedfordshire countryside, including the famous climb up Munday’s Hill and the chance to spot the demonstration sand train in action.
🧩 STONEHENGE WORKS STOP
Your trip includes a 25-minute stop at historic Stonehenge Works, where families can enjoy a treasured hunt, browse the crafts and refreshments shop featuring local artists’ work, explore museum exhibits and let children burn off some energy in the play area. You may also get the chance to visit the footplate of steam locomotive Penlee and see what it’s like to be a train driver.

✈️ Twinwood Aviation Museum 2026 - Clapham
Time: 10:30 - 16:00
An aviation museum covering the second World War and World War 1 with displays on the RAF and 8th USAAF. Located in the restored Watch Office (Control Tower), the museum showcases a comprehensive collection of photographs documenting Glenn Millers time in the UK.
▪️THE UPPER FLOOR
The upper floor has been meticulously restored to its original wartime configuration, reflecting its history as a RAF night fighter training school. The museum also features an Aviation Museum, boasting an impressive array of artifacts recovered from wartime crash sites, as well as uniforms and memorabilia from World War 2.
We also have a special exhibition on World War 1.
▪️HOME FRONT MUSEUM
Our Home Front display transports visitors back to the 1940's with a recreated street scene and living room.
Additionally, the museum is home to a faithfully reproduced wartime fire station, complete with authentic firefighting equipment. The former armoury houses a unique collection of British and Axis uniforms, equipment, and vehicles including a restored 1/4 scale ME 109 fighter.

Our small Toy Museum features a working H0.00 model railway and a selection of

Enjoy unlimited steam train rides, children’s activities with Tooting Tots and Cha Char Chimps, and plenty of space to explore across our 25-acre site!
🛤 MINIATURE TRAIN RIDES
We also have miniature ride-on trains which are run by our sister society VAMES, (there is a small £1.50 charge for this per person – under 3s are free.)

With the museum, café and gift shop all open too, it’s the perfect relaxed family day out.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome everywhere on site and in the train.
Restrictions do apply in the cafeteria serving area.

The site is fully accessible for wheelchair and pushchair users. There are disabled toilets within the museum, miniature railway and Rewley Road visitor centre.
Train rides are available when we are running our MK1 carriages from Platform 4 withing the brake van. Other carriages are inaccessible for wheelchairs so please do contact us before visiting to check what will be running. Please call 01296 655720 for more information.
