🚍 Free Daventry Heritage Bus Rides 2026

Saturday 12 September 2026

Time: 10:00 - 17:00

🚍 𝗕𝗨𝗦 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗬!
Once again Northampton Transport Heritage (NTH) will be back for their 5th year running classic buses on old town routes as part of the National Heritage Open Days 2026 celebrations.

🗓 DETAILS
▪️𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻: Saturday 12th September 2026
▪️Time: 10am – 4pm
▪️𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: Market Square, Daventry
▪️𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆: FREE bus rides with optional purchase of a bus brochure which costs £3.

🚍 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧: There will be a variety of classic and heritage vehicles operating FREE bus rides out to the local villages and back to the town centre. You can go on as many bus rides as you wish and even get off, have a walk round and catch the next bus back into town.

There will also be a static display in Market Square that you can look round and enjoy plus take photos.

♿️ ACCESSIBILITY INFO...
We will do our best to accommodate everyone, but please remember that most of the buses are from times past so we cannot carry wheelchairs, buggies or prams on the buses. Most will have steps at the entrance so please bear this in mind before boarding the buses. For more information visit our website.

🥙 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗧:
The annual Daventry Foodies Market will also be taking place in the town centre for you to enjoy on the same day as well! Lots of yummy local independent food stalls and free family friendly  entertainment.

📍𝗕𝗨𝗦 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘:
Buses will depart from outside the Plume of Feather pub on Abbey Street at 10 minute intervals between 10am and 4pm with a static display in Market Square. Buses will be travelling to Badby, Staverton, Braunston, Welton or Ashby St Ledgers and Weedon.

📘 𝗕𝗨𝗦 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗘 OPTIONAL:
A bus brochure featuring the timetable can be purchased on the day for £3 from the the NTH stand which will be opposite Market Square – in front of Murati’s restaurant/Burton Memorial.

😌 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦:
Whilst our heritage buses may not be as accessible as modern vehicles, some are easier to board for those with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) than others, and with that in mind we are thrilled to announce that during Northampton Transport Heritage's visit to Daventry we will have dedicated journeys to those with SEND. These routes are fairly short, calm in terms of traffic and passenger numbers and onboard there will be an even more relaxed atmosphere than usual. Attendees with SEND are of course welcome on every single bus journey of the day and should you need assistance to board or advice about route suitability, our volunteers and drivers are always on hand to help.

ℹ️ SEND 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘:
Travel on these SEND services is on a first come first served basis. Please collect a ticket from our information point stall at the top of the High Street outside Murati’s near the Burton Memorial to ensure your seat.

🗓 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗨𝗦 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗦
(JOURNEY 20/25 MINS)
Daventry Market Square
(opposite the Church):
10:30, 11:30, 14:30 & 15:30

ℹ️ 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗥: You are carried at your own risk and the vehicle owners, drivers or event organisers accept no responsibility for any loss or damage or injury as a result. We regret that we cannot carry dogs (other than assistance dogs), wheelchairs, buggies or prams on the buses. Whilst we will make every effort to maintain the advertised time table, the vehicles can be temperamental, so please be patient in the event of a delay or any cancellation. We cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused by operating failure either within or beyond our control.

*All vehicles and journeys are subject to availability, change, cancellation and crew availability without prior notice.
