โน๏ธ ABOUT
Nestled in the picturesque village of Clapham, just outside Bedford, this festival is a unique homage to the music and culture of the 1930s to 1960s. With its origins rooted in the legacy of Glenn Miller, Twinwood Festival has grown into one of the most beloved vintage music festivals in the world.
The festivalโs location is steeped in history. Twinwood Airfield was once a significant RAF base during World War II and is famed as the last place Glenn Miller was seen before his disappearance in 1944. There is something for everyone with a fashion show, childrenโs entertainment, cabaret, and comedy.
๐ถ Music/ bands: Attendees can enjoy performances from big bands, swing orchestras, and rockabilly groups, as well as everything from americana, jazz, soul, and blues. Please Click Here for the full band line up, running order and timings.
๐ Dancing lessons: Twinwood offers a wide range of FREE dance lessons during the festival to get you up and on those dance floors! With classes for complete beginners as well as more experienced dancers, there is something for everyone. Thereโs no need to sign up - you can just turn up and have fun!
๐ The Twinwood Museums:
In addition to our vast array of live music, Twinwood Festival also hosts a large number of trader stalls, displays and museums, showcasing or selling all things vintage, from fashion and hairstyling, to arts and antiques, to motors and militaria. During Twinwood Festival on the August Bank Holiday weekend, the museums will be open exclusively to festival-goers, for the duration of the festival, free of charge.

๐ The Most Perilous Comedie of Elizabeth - Elstow Abbey
Sunday 24 August 2025
Time: 19:00
๐ Elizabethan theatre is flourishing. But will a brand-new Tudor musical romp, in which Good Queen Bess takes to the stage herself, be the making of this heroine or spell the beginning of her downfall?
๐ TIMES:
โช๏ธ6pm - Gates Open
โช๏ธ7pm - Show Starts
(The performance will last approximately 100 minutes + a 20 minute interval).
๐ญ The stage is set for regicidal rivalries, devious dramatics, and plotting playwrights. Beset by misunderstandings and a script thatโฆletโs just sayโฆneeds some work, this production promises to be largely historical, always hysterical.
As the old saying goesโฆthy show must go-eth on!
๐ฅช WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
This performance is an outdoor performance. We recommend that you bring blankets/chairs/cushions etc. to sit on. Come prepared for the weather with warm coats and waterproofs etc, as the performance will continue come rain come shine! We ask that you donโt bring umbrellas as these can obscure the view for other people in the audience.
Picnics are welcome at this performance.
๐ BOOKING
We recommend booking tickets for this performance online in advance via thr event link. Standard ticket ยฃ20, with reductions for under-18s and families.
