⛪️ The De Grey Mausoleum is attached to the mid-15th-century parish church of St John at Flitton, Bedfordshire. It was first built in the early 17th century, before being expanded in 1704.The mausoleum contains a remarkable collection of funerary monuments spanning three centuries.
📍WHERE WILL I FIND THE MAUSOLEUM & OTHER INFO?
The mausoleum is attached to Flitton Church, St John the Baptist, Bedfordshire and is accessed via its nave. The Mausoleum is not dog friendly and there maybe some uneven surfaces not suitable for wheelchairs.
🎧 Audio tour: There is an audio tour for the mausoleum and we advise that it is downloaded prior to your visit as the mobile network signal strength in the mausoleum and the church is rather variable - click here for information about the tour and to download it.
🅿️ Parking: There is no car park at the church but there is limited on-street parking available on surrounding streets.
ℹ️ Facilities: There are no facilities at the church but there is a pub in the village and more options in either Flitwick or Ampthill.

🍻 You will find The White Hart on the corner of Brook Lane serving great food from 12pm - 3pm on Sunday's. The pub is also dog friendly.

🚶♂️If you carry on walking down the bottom of Brook Lane you will find a lovely walk 'Flit Valley'. There is a Jack Crawley Memorable barn where you will find some history posters and information. 🔎 Following your success at the Dunstable Downs Spring Tournament, it’s time to train for the next challenge - facing mythical creatures on an exciting adventure! To be ready for the quest in October, this May half-term, you’ll need to sharpen your map reading skills and familiarise yourself with the creatures and tools you’ll encounter along the way.

Another idea on a nice day for is we brought a canvas and paints from the Works in Dunstable and painted the Downs (well tried to 😂), costing around £6. Don't forget to bring a picnic too!

👀 A FREE A- MAZ-ING HIDDEN GEM IN BEDFORDSHIRE at Roxton Garden Centre! A maze that is free to go too, kids & adults will love it...... if you can find it that is!
🤔SO WHERE IS IT?
This FREE MAZE is located at the wonderful Roxton Garden Centre in Bedfordshire. When you enter the car park you will not see any signposts for it. As you go in the car park facing the garden centre turn right, then turn left as if you are heading for a dead end, it may seem like you are heading for the delivery entrance but there you will see trees on your right and a sign in front of you 'Roxton Maze'.
The maze is located next to the garden centre in a spacious field with a few benches to sit on. At the moment it is being trimmed back due to some hanging branches, we had to duck and dive a few times but it added to all the fun we had.
♿️ IS THE MAZE SUITABLE FOR PUSHCHAIRS OR WHEELCHAIRS?
I would say it is NOT suitable as there are branches, some on the floor and hanging low, some spaces may not be big enough to venture through and also the surface may not be suitable in my personal opinion. It can get muddy too.
🔓WHEN IS THE MAZE OPEN?
The Maze is open the same time when the Garden Centre is open. The details are below.
Please beware they may close the maze at anytime due to maintenance, so it maybe a good idea to contact them before planning your trip to avoid disappointment.

Dogs are allowed but they are not allowed in the main restaurant area. Just ask staff if you are not sure, they will be happy to help. They do a great carvery on a Sunday, you may need to book for this as it can get quite busy serving between 11:30 - 3:30pm.

Our wild swimming experience is perfect for solo adventurers, couples, and families alike. Whether you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life or simply want to try something new, our experienced and friendly team (including an open water lifeguard) will be on hand to help you make the most of your time in the water.

▪️If you’re new to wild swimming and planning to start in the cooler months, we recommend you attend our ‘Introduction to Cold Water Swimming’ Course.
▪️Tow-floats are always required.

Everyone is different, so please feel free to wear what feels comfortable for you, be it a swimsuit or wetsuit. Water shoes or socks can be helpful on the lake floor. Please also bring a towel and warm clothes.

🎶 Music in the Park - Leighton Buzzard

🎵 This lovely Leighton Linslade town council organised event where Bedford Brass are playing in Parsons Park in Leighon Buzzard, which is equipped with a Cafe, toilets, play park, sandpit and a splash Park. There's something for everyone!

ℹ️ INFORMATION
Running from June to September annually, these concerts take place on Sunday afternoons, commencing at 3pm. For many years, the Town Council has organised these concerts to spotlight brass and silver bands from various regions alongside jazz and popular bands. There’s something for everyone to enjoy at the historic bandstand nestled within Parson’s Close Recreation Ground.
💦 MORE FUN THINGS TO DO WITH THE KIDS IN THE PARK
The bandstand is located next to the Splash and Play Park area, with a sandpit and skate park. Additionally, an independently run café operates throughout the summer months, providing refreshments for visitors.
🥪 BRING A PICNIC
Why not pack a picnic, gather your friends, and immerse yourself in the melodies?
🚻 FACILITIES
The park also offers accessible toilet facilities, including a changing area in the toilets.
