The parking is on gravel stones so this maybe hard to navigate a wheelchair. Although it does mention on the website that you can park infront of the Farm Shop which is tarmac ideal for wheelchair users. The farm shop, Steak House & Tea room are accessible. On a winter day you may find the zoo area paths are muddy, with some gravel paths and grass, so it maybe hard to push a wheelchair in places. There is a wooden slat ramp to the Tropical house.

The Panacea Society was originally called โThe Community of the Holy Ghostโ, and was made up mostly of women. Its leader was Mabel Barltrop โ the widow of an English clergyman, and mother of four childrenโ whose followers called her โOctaviaโ.

During the 1920s, followers of the Panacea Society moved to Bedford to live near Octavia. Eventually, the community was able to combine the gardens of several properties to form โthe campusโ โ a private space between the community houses, with a chapel at its centre.
From this headquarters, the Society operated a religious organisation which reached across the world. Over two thousand people became members of the Panacea Society, in Europe, North America and many parts of the British Empire and Commonwealth.
From its beginning, the Panacea Society expected the end of the world. Society members were convinced that God would soon act to bring about a new age โ a period of peace and happiness called โthe Millenniumโ.
The Panacea Society was part of a wider religious movement of groups concerned with prophecy. The Panaceans believed that God was speaking to them through Octavia, but her followers did not believe she was the only modern prophet. Rather, they accepted a lineage of seven prophetic voices since the late 1700s โ a tradition they called โthe Visitationโ.

We are a registered charity that rescues unwanted pet pigs and give them a safe and loving home. From little acorns that started 15 years ago with my own pet pigs, cementing my bond, knowledge and passion, a sanctuary has grown for these highly intelligent animals.
We have been rescuing pet pigs since March 2016 and have grown rapidly both as a respected rescue centre and a learning, education and wellbeing centre.

Biggleswade Arts and Theatre Society (BATS) invites you to listen to tales from characters of the past, who lived or worked in Biggleswade throughout history. ๐คฉThe Land of Lights 2025 was amazing when whatsUp Bedfordshire went as a family! We managed to book early and in doing so we got tickets for ยฃ10 each. These have now gone up to around ยฃ15pp.

Wow what a great Sunday evening we had. We managed to get the early bird tickets for ยฃ10pp and this was definitely worth it. We will ๐ฏ be going back next year, the whole family absolutely loved it!
๐ถโโ๏ธโฟ๏ธ HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO WALK AROUND?
The magical walk took around 1.5 hours with play areas indoor and outdoor for the children to enjoy too! This is fully accessible so great for wheelchairs & pushchairs.
๐ ANIMALS
You get to walk into the animal barn on your way round where you can see, donkeys, goats, sheep and guinea pigs.
๐ฏโโ๏ธINDOOR LIGHT SHOW & AN INDOOR PLAY AREA
There is an indoor light show where you will find dancers, this is varied times so ask when you get there if you would like to be pointed in the right direction. Also inside you will find a play area with a slide and hidey holes, another great addition!
๐ฅTOASTING MARSHMALLOWS
You can book a bag of marshmallows and sticks to your booking for ยฃ4.50. To be fair you get quite a lot, you can save money by bringing your own sticks and marshmallows to toast on the fire.
