🎊 Midsummer Boulevard East will once again be transformed into a vibrant hub of music, arts and family-friendly activities inspired by themes of renewal, healing and health.

😍 WHAT TO EXPECT
The festival will feature an exciting mix of live music, street theatre, folklore-inspired art, and hands-on workshops, all free to enjoy. Visitors can also indulge in delicious pop-up street food curated by local favourite, Sophie etc., available throughout the day and into the evening.

While the full programme is still being finalised, highlights already confirmed include: 
⭐️ Leap Then Look: A new interactive art commission
⭐️ Bernadette Russell: A captivating storytelling performance reclaiming the image of fairies as wild, punk-spirited protectors of the earth 
⭐️ Wild Rumpus and the Pavilion of the Hopeful Sun: Hosting the enchanting ‘Ceremony of the Seed’

ℹ️ ARE YOU AN ORGANISATION WHO WANTS TO TAKE PART?
The city council is inviting artists, creatives, and cultural organisations to submit ideas for a new commission to feature in the festival programme. Those interested can apply on the city council’s website.

⛔️ ROAD CLOSURE
Midsummer Boulevard East will be closed to traffic during the event. Diversion signs will redirect motorists, and buses will operate from alternative stops outside The Point on Lower Tenth Street.

🛍 Harpenden’s Farmers' Market is a vibrant market offering a huge selection of exciting, high quality local produce. We welcome residents and visitors to the Town every month to enjoy everything the Market has to offer.

The Farmers' Market includes fresh fruit, vegetables, meats fish, artisan bakery, homemade pies, preserves, gifts, crafts, beer, wine, liquors, fine cheeses, flowers, and street food.

💦 FREE Bennett's Splash Park in Dunstable 2025

💦 Bennetts FREE Splash park is great for a fun day out for all the family with a play park and Cafe onsite.

💦 FREE FAMILY FUN
Enjoy the 16 super soaking water features ranging from gentle mists, spray arches and tipping buckets to spray shooter cannons. The Splash Park is designed to be enjoyed by children of all ages from 2 years to 10 years.

Those who are older are asked to act responsibly for the safety of all.
Please note, the Splash Park will have 10 minute intervals where the water will stop to ensure water safety quality checks, why not take this opportunity to refresh at the Splashside Cafe.

When driving to Bennett’s Splash, please park in Ashton Square Car Park located off Bull Pond Lane, LU6 3BE.
The Splash Park is a minute walk from here, into Bennett Memorial Recreation Ground. Please take care when crossing the road.
ASHTON SQUARE CAR PARK is owned and operated by Central Bedfordshire Council. Please check the machines for chargeable days and hours.

Time: 10:30 - 15:30

🚂 The Summerfield Line will take you between Haynes End Station and Hammer Hill Station.

TIMES
Trains depart Haynes End between 10:30 and 15:30 (approx.), we close at 16:00.
Steam engines will also be in action as often as we are able.

ℹ️ ABOUT
At Hammer Hill you will have the option of taking a ride on two more of our railways - The Springfield Line from platform 2 and The Winterfield Line from platform 3 - tickets for both are sold at Hammer Hill. 

🥪 PICNIC AREA
The picnic area at Hammer Hill will also be open for you to use, from where you will be able to watch the Garden Line in operation.

☕️ REFRESHMENTS
At Haynes End the Station Buffet will be open for refreshments and picnic tables are available for your use on the grass outside.

We do try to run even when the weather is not at its best, but will have to cease operations should conditions dictate.

Except where indicated you do not need to book in advance, merely "turn-up and go". The operation of all railways is subject to the availability of volunteers to run them and the prevailing weather conditions.

✂️ Free Sunday Crafternoons at Higgins, Bedford


Time: 14:00 - 16:00

✂️ Crafternoons are a monthly creative activity sessions for families to have a go at 'making' together and enjoy the chance to get creative. All resources are provided. This will take place at The Higgins in Bedford.

🧒 AGES: Suitable for under 12s.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
