Yes, well behaved dogs are allowed. Please ensure dogs are kept on their lead at all times during your visit.
βΏοΈ IS THE TRAIL ACCESSIABLE?
The Light Trail has been designed to be as accessible as possible, a lot of the route is on hard standing paths and is approximately one mile in length. There is however uneven ground and no hard standing in the woodland areas. If it rains, it may get muddy, and access may be difficult in this area. Four-wheel drive buggies are advisable. If you have access requirements and the day you have purchased for has adverse weather, then please contact us and we will amend your booking for a future date.
The food village will be accessible as well as wheelchair user friendly. Disabled parking is free and toilet facilities are available.
π΄ CAN I BRING A SCOOTER, BICYCLE, KIDDY CART?
Unfortunately not. The trail will be too busy and the paths are not suitable.

First stop is a visit to Buffer and Stoker in their Engine Shed. These clever Elves will help you design your own Santa Express decoration to take home with you whilst entertaining you with jokes and fun.

Full steam ahead to the Junction Shed to meet Mr P the Station Master. He has just received a delivery of Christmassy letters from Rudolph, one for every child, and your magical reindeer food ready for Christmas Eve. Mr P the Station Master will also help you make your own special wish upon a star.

Conductor, the Elf will then lead the way and give each a child a ticket for Santaβs special Christmas ride.
π MEET SANTA
At the end of the Station you will find Santa and Mrs Claus in their cosy sitting room, where Santa will have a story for you and a present for each child, enjoy your own special time with him and there will be the opportunity for you to take that memorable photograph.

Wrap up warm and step outside onto the North Pole Station and climb aboard The Santa Express for more magical photographs. To get to these toilets you have to go up one step. Both male and female toilets have baby changing facilities.

This is a group event that will start at 5.30 pm which will last around 1 hour.
πͺ Children will start the evening doing some Christmas crafts- decorating their own gingerbread biscuit to take home and making magical reindeer food for them to sprinkle on Christmas Eve (wildlife friendly we hasten to add!)
π Then itβs time to gather round with the big man himself, whilst he tells the children all about what he and the elves have been up to at the North Pole and finishes by reading a lovely Christmas story.
πΈ There will be photo opportunities to snap a picture of your child with Santa.
π Upon leaving they will receive an age appropriate gift that will be personally labelled for them along with the biscuit and reindeer food they made earlier.

On the trail youβll discover illuminated trees and lamp posts, glittering overhead lights in Market Square, photo opportunities by the Market Cross and lots of fairy lights hidden inside our independent shops.
βοΈ AN IDEA WHILE YOU'RE IN TOWN....
While youβre in town why not pick up a few extra gifts from the Market, or visit one of our independent coffee shops for a hot drink and a gingerbread for the children. There are lots of low cost items in the charity shops too!

πGet ready to feel the holiday magic! Join us on Central Boulevard in Rushden for a Festive Fayre packed with seasonal treats, unique gifts, family fun and our Vintage Ferris Wheel

Saturday and Sunday: 10am β 9pm.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A beautifully decorated fayre with wooden chalets, festive lighting and Christmas trees. Weβll have a variety of festive food options, including:

Join the Gingerbread Trail this festive season! Pick up your trail booklet at Customer Services, find the 10 gingerbread characters marked on our map, and jot down their names for a chance to WIN some amazing prizes!
(Aimed at pre and primary school aged children)

The zoo proudly house's over 100 fascinating animals, from majestic African Lions to delightful sloth bears, a racoon dog, skunk, otters, a bob cat, wallabies, rabbits, meerkats and many more.

Inside the warm Tropical house you will find crocodiles, turtles, fish & snakes surrounded by palm trees.
(The Whatsup Bedfordshire family loved this!)
π FUN FOR THE KIDS
You will find an outdoor play area with a climing frame, swings, slide and bouncers. You will also find a tranquil circular woodland walk. Keep a look out for Peacocks roaming around near the Steak House!

The parking is on gravel stones so this maybe hard to navigate a wheelchair. Although it does mention on the website that you can park infront of the Farm Shop which is tarmac ideal for wheelchair users. The farm shop, Steak House & Tea room are accessible. On a winter day you may find the zoo area paths are muddy, with some gravel paths and grass, so it maybe hard to push a wheelchair in places. There is a wooden slat ramp to the Tropical house.
π» Accessible toilets - Accessible toilets are available in both the Steakhouse and Tea room.
