🎶 Jukebox 1264 presents…Tapestry: An Evening in Laurel Canyon. This event sends us back to California in the 1960s and 1970s as the hippies took over the Sunset Strip.

ABOUT
With the house prices too costly in the centre of town, a creative hub emerged in Laurel Canyon; an area overlooking Los Angeles in the Hollywood Hills. Just some of those who took advantage of this cheaper living space included members of The Byrds and The Doors as well as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Carole King…

In the first half of this concert you will hear music from the artists listed above as well as many others by the Laurel Canyon residents during this time.

In the second half, the band will perform in its entirety Carole King's masterpiece Tapestry.

Of all the albums released at this time in the Laurel Canyon community, Tapestry, arguably, sums up this counter-culture best. It is a statement of togetherness, love in all its forms, feminism, and endless hope for the future. Jukebox 1264 are a pop ensemble formed by the Lewes Music Group in 2021. Their themed concerts pay tribute to eras, albums and artists throughout the last 60 years in popular music. So far the band have paid tribute to the music of: ▪️Carole King,

🐶 ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
Yes, well behaved dogs are allowed. Please ensure dogs are kept on their lead at all times during your visit.

♿️ IS THE TRAIL ACCESSIABLE?
The Light Trail has been designed to be as accessible as possible, a lot of the route is on hard standing paths and is approximately one mile in length. There is however uneven ground and no hard standing in the woodland areas. If it rains, it may get muddy, and access may be difficult in this area. Four-wheel drive buggies are advisable. If you have access requirements and the day you have purchased for has adverse weather, then please contact us and we will amend your booking for a future date.
The food village will be accessible as well as wheelchair user friendly. Disabled parking is free and toilet facilities are available.

🛴 CAN I BRING A SCOOTER, BICYCLE, KIDDY CART?
Unfortunately not. The trail will be too busy and the paths are not suitable.

Explore the beautifully decorated house, where The White Witch has cast her spell, making it always winter and never Christmas. Journey your way through Narnia, escaping the Witch’s spell and end your adventure in the magical throne room.

Outside, continue into the gardens for an enchanting Narnia-themed trail for families to enjoy, included in the ticket price.

Come and join us in celebrating Christmas with a delicious Afternoon Tea served in the grand dinning room within the main house, including savoury tarts, pigs in blankets, smoked salmon blinis and a selection of sweet treats. We also have a delicious Christmas Tea for the little ones which includes finger sandwiches, houmous & crudities, pigs in blankets, mini-Christmas doughnut and fresh fruit. Served with either a juice or milkshake or can be upgraded to a luxury hot chocolate.

♿️ Is the event suitable for those with accessibility needs?
The event takes place inside Wrest Park Mansion House, on the ground floor, and goes into Wrest Park’s grounds.  Some of the route may be on uneven terrain or involve steps, but the majority of the trail will be accessible to wheelchairs. The house is not accessible for mobility scooters or electric wheelchairs. There are a number of wheelchairs and mobility scooters available to hire from our reception on: reception.

🌳 Outdoor nature play has many proven benefits for pre-schoolers. It supports their development, stimulates their senses, improves creativity, and boosts immunity.

That’s why our Outdoor Learning Team runs Tree Tots, a weekly 50-minute nature play session that enables you and your little ones to join in all kinds of outdoor fun alongside other children, parents and carers.

Tree Tots offers a range of seasonal activities designed just for under-5s. You’ll get to join in all kinds of fun things that connect you and your little one with nature – from ‘cooking’ in mud kitchens, balancing on ropes and swinging in hammocks to playing with water, exploring the woods and collecting natural treasure.
