Whipsnade Zoo wants as many people as possible to be able to enjoy a brilliant day out with them, to benefit from the amazing animals which live at Whipsnade Zoo, connect with nature and help us create a world where wildlife thrives.
To help people who might find cost or other challenges a barrier to visiting Whipsnade Zoo, the Universal Credit tickets provide entry at a reduced price.

These tickets are only available to purchase online in advance, for up to six people per household (under 3’s go free and do not need to book – but must be accompanied by an adult with a booked ticket). As only full price tickets are available to buy at the gate.
📝 WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
You'll need to bring proof of eligibility with you and show this when you present your ticket(s) to the friendly staff at the Zoo entrance. This can either be by logging into your Universal Credit portal or by bringing your proof of benefit letter (one proof per household). To be eligible you must have received a Universal Credit payment within the last month and you may also be asked to show photographic ID.

Enjoy our beautiful lakeside setting as you work your way around our Disc & Football Golf course! You will need to throw your disc into the basket or football into the hole - the exact same as you would do on a golf course! Your round should take around 1 hour to complete. Wander onto the village green and discover Moot Hall - a registered Ancient Monument. This delightful 15th century timber-framed building is unique, being the only known combined manor courthouse & market hall to have been built in Britain by a nunnery.
As well as Bunyan-related items, Moot Hall houses a collection of 17th century furniture and various small exhibitions, including beautiful Bedfordshire lace-making. (Which you can purchase here.) Moot Hall is run by a small team of volunteers, all of whom are knowledgeable about its history, so don't hesitate to ask them questions.
▪️PLEASE NOTE: Cash only in the shop.

There is no admission fee for individuals and families. Instead, we invite you to leave a donation, at the end of your visit, for whatever amount you feel your visit was worth.

Follow that with a stroll around the ancient timber-framed buildings on Elstow's High Street and the Abbey church and ruins of the former Benedictine nunnery. 👒 Where is the Flamstead Scarecrow Festival held?
The Flamstead Scarecrow Festival is held each year throughout Flamstead Village. Residents display scarecrows on their property or around the village. There will be a map of scarecrows posted on the website before the festival starts, although some scarecrows do have a habit of popping up unannounced too!

We are providing a free festival car park in the village within walking distance for patrons of the festival to park in. The vehicle entrance to the car park is via Delmer End Lane. The pedestrian entrance to the car park is on Trowley Hill Road and brings you out in a good spot to visit the festival.
