š¦ PLOT TWIST
I booked our anniversary stay at Gulliverās Land in Milton Keynes literally last minute at 4pm and arrived at 6:30pm. Yes, that Gulliverās ā the one teeming with dinosaurs and toddlers in Crocs. Not exactly Paris, but guess what? We had an absolute blast!
This wasnāt your average romantic weekend. It was part wild west, part chaotic kids' and romantic a setting but somehow still one of the best nights weāve had in ages.
š WHAT WE DID....
What we actually got up to (No regrets. Mostly.)
š¤ Shacked up in a Western-style cabin ā and we bagged the only kind of cabin's with a TV. Yee-haw and thank you very much.
š„ Embarked on a global pub crawlā¦ within the parkās themed areas. Because nothing says romance like pretending youāre in Africa while holding a gin in Milton Keynes.
āŗļø Discovered an empty bell tent. Naturally, we moved in (for one drink onlyā¦ or three). Luckily, nobody sleeping in there, we double checked.
š½ Dined at Warbler on the Wharf ā genuinely a lovely spot overlooking the marina. It gave posh vibes without the posh prices. Click here to view the website.
š¤øāāļøSnuck into the ball pit. Not sure it was allowed. Definitely worth it.
š£āāļø Drinks on a boat. Should we have been there? Unclear. Were we channeling our midlife crisis? Absolutely!
š¤ BOOKING HACK...
Because Full Price? Nah.
The Gulliverās Land website was playing hardball with the prices, so we sidestepped and booked via Expedia (also check Hotels.com ā theyāve got listings too). Bit of a win considering we spent the savings on cocktails and fries.
šÆ THE VERDICT
If youāre craving something different ā and donāt mind sleeping near a T-Rex ā this place is weirdly perfect for a one- or two-night break. Kids will love it. Grown-ups might love it even more, especially if youāre not above climbing into a ball pit or getting locked in a cage in your 30s (or 40sā¦ or whatever, age is fake). And no, we didnāt camp like we could of, we needed a real toilet and zero effort. Priorities!
