🚗 Classics on the Common returns to Harpenden Common for 2026 - and this hugely popular midweek motoring event is once again set to draw big crowds from across Beds, Herts and beyond.
Widely recognised as one of the UK’s biggest midweek classic car shows, and regularly ranked among the top events in the classic motoring calendar, this is a brilliant summer outing for enthusiasts, families and casual visitors alike.

Once a year, Harpenden Common comes alive with more than 1,200 classic cars, motorcycles and motoring curiosities, alongside around 10,000 admiring spectators. Expect an incredible mix of vehicles from across the decades, from beautifully preserved originals to more distinctive and customised classics - all brought along by owners who clearly care deeply about their machines.
This much-loved event is organised by Rotary in Harpenden and combines a fantastic atmosphere with a strong community feel, all while raising money for great causes. Last year’s event raised over £30,000 for charity, with proceeds supporting organisations including Keech Hospice, Rotary Foundation, Hertfordshire Scouts and Empowering Kids in Kenya.

Explore 2 giant courses during your session (rotating after 30-mins) - twice the fun for the same price! How long will you stay dry?
🧦 Grip socks (or soft-sole water shoes): Optional, but recommended for extra comfort and grip. Socks are available to buy on the day. Wetsuits are also optional, but recommended & can hired on the day or pre-booked.
🏊♂️ Participants must be able to swim at least 50 metres while wearing a buoyancy aid and be comfortable falling into open water.

Dogs are welcome at Rushden Lakes, whilst on a lead, but pets are not permitted within the sand play area.
♿️ Is the beach wheelchair and pushchair accessible?
The surrounding event area is accessible, although movement on sand may be more difficult for some wheelchairs and pushchairs.
