👀 A FREE A- MAZ-ING HIDDEN GEM IN BEDFORDSHIRE at Roxton Garden Centre! A maze that is free to go too, kids & adults will love it...... if you can find it that is!
🤔SO WHERE IS IT?
This FREE MAZE is located at the wonderful Roxton Garden Centre in Bedfordshire. When you enter the car park you will not see any signposts for it. As you go in the car park facing the garden centre turn right, then turn left as if you are heading for a dead end, it may seem like you are heading for the delivery entrance but there you will see trees on your right and a sign in front of you 'Roxton Maze'.
The maze is located next to the garden centre in a spacious field with a few benches to sit on. At the moment it is being trimmed back due to some hanging branches, we had to duck and dive a few times but it added to all the fun we had.
♿️ IS THE MAZE SUITABLE FOR PUSHCHAIRS OR WHEELCHAIRS?
I would say it is NOT suitable as there are branches, some on the floor and hanging low, some spaces may not be big enough to venture through and also the surface may not be suitable in my personal opinion. It can get muddy too.
🔓WHEN IS THE MAZE OPEN?
The Maze is open the same time when the Garden Centre is open. The details are below.
Please beware they may close the maze at anytime due to maintenance, so it maybe a good idea to contact them before planning your trip to avoid disappointment.

The cafe has hot and cold food and drink options at reasonable prices. There is a kids menu and an indoor & outdoor space with unmbrellas to sit in the sun and relax amongst the outdoor flower section of the Garden Centre. Dogs are allowed but they are not allowed in the main restaurant area. Just ask staff if you are not sure, they will be happy to help. They do a great carvery on a Sunday, you may need to book for this as it can get quite busy serving between 11:30 - 3:30pm.

The parking is on gravel stones so this maybe hard to navigate a wheelchair. Although it does mention on the website that you can park infront of the Farm Shop which is tarmac ideal for wheelchair users. The farm shop, Steak House & Tea room are accessible. On a winter day you may find the zoo area paths are muddy, with some gravel paths and grass, so it maybe hard to push a wheelchair in places. There is a wooden slat ramp to the Tropical house.

📖 SOME INTERESTING HISTORY
The Panacea Society was originally called ‘The Community of the Holy Ghost’, and was made up mostly of women. Its leader was Mabel Barltrop – the widow of an English clergyman, and mother of four children– whose followers called her ‘Octavia’.
Octavia. The founder of the Panacea Society.
During the 1920s, followers of the Panacea Society moved to Bedford to live near Octavia. Eventually, the community was able to combine the gardens of several properties to form ‘the campus’ – a private space between the community houses, with a chapel at its centre.
From this headquarters, the Society operated a religious organisation which reached across the world. Over two thousand people became members of the Panacea Society, in Europe, North America and many parts of the British Empire and Commonwealth.
From its beginning, the Panacea Society expected the end of the world. Society members were convinced that God would soon act to bring about a new age – a period of peace and happiness called ‘the Millennium’.
The Panacea Society was part of a wider religious movement of groups concerned with prophecy. The Panaceans believed that God was speaking to them through Octavia, but her followers did not believe she was the only modern prophet. Rather, they accepted a lineage of seven prophetic voices since the late 1700s – a tradition they called ‘the Visitation’.

🤭 Based on the hugely popular TV comedy series, this sequel to the popular stage production of ’Allo ’Allo continues the adventures of reluctant resistance hero and harassed café owner, René Artois, in German-occupied wartime France. Still trying to repatriate a pair of British airmen, René, his wife Edith and their café waitresses, Mimi and Yvette, are embroiled in yet another complicated and life-threatening scheme. General Von Klinkerhoffen demands a fortune in francs in recompense for the loss of the infamous painting of ‘The Fallen Madonna With The Big Boobies’, and René is expected to come up with the cash.
But nothing is ever easy. The local undertaker, Monsieur Alphonse, is making advances on Edith. René’s mother-in-law, Fanny, objects to the radio used to communicate with London being hidden under her bed. No one can understand what Officer Crabtree (the British agent disguised as a Policeman) is saying. Michelle of the Resistance has a series of increasingly hare-brained proposals. Herr Flick of the Gestapo, Colonel Von Strohm and Captain Geering all have their own plans to get hold of the money, and Lieutenant Gruber still wants to take René away for a ride in his little tank… The cash, a set of forged notes and a bomb all end up hidden in identical camembert cheeses. 🎮 WELCOME TO THE PIXEL BUNKER IN MILTON KEYNES...
We’re packed full of classic arcade machines such as Pac-man, Galaga, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, OutRun, Street Fighter 2, Bubble Bobble and many, many more machines from the 80's, 90's and 2000's. We have recently added Pinball Machines to our line up too!
🕐 WHEN ARE WE OPEN?
Open Friday to Sunday plus bank holidays and school holidays, bookings in advance are highly recommended.
😀 SESSION TIMES
▪️Friday: 12:00, 15:30 and 19:00
▪️Saturday: 10:00, 13:30, 17:00
▪️Sunday: 10:00 and 13:30
▪️During bank holidays and school holidays We will have sessions at 11:00 and 14:15.
3️⃣ HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?
Gaming sessions last for three hours and once you have paid the entry fee, every game inside is set to free play - no need for any coins to play!
🙋♀️ UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN AGE:
Children aged 14 and over can visit The Pixel Bunker without an adult. Under 14s must be accompanied by at least one paying adult.
🅿️ PARKING
There are over 1000 spaces immediately outside the venue for as little as 50p per hour.
♿️ We have two dedicated Blue Badge bays right outside the entrance, and many more positioned around Lloyds Court. All parking zones in Milton Keynes are Free when a Blue Badge is displayed.

Must be booked in advance. With every machine set to free play, the only cost to play is the admission. Tickets can be booked on Eventbrite via the event link.
