🎻 John Coghlan's Quo Re-Imagined in Stage 2 at The Stables, Milton Keynes

Bassist Paul Jefferies and pianist Alex Steele created this concept early in 2023 after an initial meeting with the Status Quo drummer John Coghlan. John gave it a big thumbs up. Paul and Alex wanted to create a totally different sound for the Quo Reimagined project and their first thought was to 'go acoustic'. That meant finding another instrument - not a guitar - that would sound quite different to the electric instruments used by Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt and they almost instantly decided on friend and world class violinist Ben Holder.
The even better news was that Ben can sing - so rather than this be an instrumental project, vocals could be added to give the Quo music some more credibility. Alex Steele's acoustic piano sound and Paul double bass (rather than the electric bass played by original founding member Alan Lancaster) would add to the different sound the band could create. So, the Quo melodies and most of the harmony are kept in tact, but with violin, piano, double bass and drums - and solos that use jazz and even classical inspiration - make the resulting sound very different to the original, but recognisable and very exciting!

We have eight car-parking spaces for Blue Badge holders close to the main public entrance, all with level access. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Enjoy our beautiful lakeside setting as you work your way around our Disc & Football Golf course! You will need to throw your disc into the basket or football into the hole - the exact same as you would do on a golf course! Your round should take around 1 hour to complete. The one who takes the least goes is the winner!

The parking is on gravel stones so this maybe hard to navigate a wheelchair. Although it does mention on the website that you can park infront of the Farm Shop which is tarmac ideal for wheelchair users. The farm shop, Steak House & Tea room are accessible. On a winter day you may find the zoo area paths are muddy, with some gravel paths and grass, so it maybe hard to push a wheelchair in places. There is a wooden slat ramp to the Tropical house.
