The much-loved Last Night of the Proms returns to Parson’s Close Recreation Ground, Leighton Buzzard is on Saturday 12 September 2026 from 7pm to 10.30pm.
🎉 EVENT DETAILS
Enjoy a spectacular evening of live music and Proms favourites, starting with local singer and soprano Lissie Allsopp performing her Best of British set.
Then enjoy the renowned brass sound of the Bedfordshire Band of the Royal British Legion before settling in for a live screening of the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms from the Royal Albert Hall just after 9pm.

One of the UK's most successful songwriters, Mark Chadwick, has co-written 20 chart singles and 6 Top 40 albums (including a Number 1) as part of the Levellers, the band he has fronted for over 25 years. Still going strong, the Levellers are festival favourites and have cemented their cherished status with headline performances at Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight, Cambridge Folk Festival, Bestival and Boomtown and many European and UK events and in 2003 they successfully created their own annual Beautiful Days Festival which takes place in August at Escot Park in Devon.

Headlining this spectacular celebration is the one and only Kaiser Chiefs (best known for their songs ‘Ruby’ and ‘I Predict a Riot’). During the day visitors are welcome to take a self-guided tour of the church, climb the tower (between 10am-2pm), bring children along for our stained glass window craft and friendship bracelet station, visit our pay-what-you-can cafe celebrating the international heritage of our congregation or join a heritage masterclass in traditional skills.

Our church has a gravel path and the main entrance has a ramp to the main area of the church. Those with accessibility needs may drive up the path to the church door, however parking by the door may not be available on the day. The toilets are down a step in the church rooms, if you require access please let us know and we can open the fire exit on the Rectory side. The church has a mostly smooth, old stone floor which has natural wear causing some unevenness & steps up to the chancel. The Tower is unsuitable for any additional accessibility needs due to it's construction in the 13th century.
