Twinwood Festival draws thousands of enthusiasts from around the globe and you can join them over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Nestled in the picturesque village of Clapham, just outside Bedford, this festival is a unique homage to the music and culture of the 1930s to 1960s. With its origins rooted in the legacy of Glenn Miller, Twinwood Festival has grown into one of the most beloved vintage music festivals in the world.
FRIDAY TICKETS

👵 RED RIDING HOOD AUGUST 2024 SUMMER FAMILY SHOW. Red Riding Hood is our summer pantomime live at the Olde Watermill this August. Red Riding Hood is off to the Watermill Woods to visit her Grandma, Dame Cupcake, with a basket full of their famous home-baked cupcakes. But, oh dear, the Wicked Wolf is following her because he wants to steal their secret cupcake recipe, and will try any trick to get it. Red Riding Hood and Dame Cupcake need your help to keep their recipe safe and win the cupcake bake-off.

We have an amazing variety of summer workshops, because each session is different, the timings are unique to each workshop to suit the activity. Where you see two sessions advertised such as MOSAIC ART, PARKOUR, GET LOUD and GET FESTIVAL READY, please only book onto ONE WORKSHOP.
We will contact you with information regarding an indoor location for the workshop in the event of bad weather. This project is for young people aged 11-17 living, staying with relatives or studying in Ampthill. Funded by Ampthill Town Council.

What connects a father's disappearance with an audacious robbery committed in the dead of night? What has become of the great Agra Treasure? And who is the mysterious Jonathan Small? Classic Victorian detective action at its finest. The show is adapted from the Conan Doyle original by Jonathan Goodwin, and co-directed by Goodwin and Gary Archer.

🏖 Hitchin beach returns! Located in the Market Place from 6th - 26th August, children will be able to bring their buckets and spades to play in the sand. Come down and enjoy the fun! - 10am - 4pm each day
💦 WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?
While you visit the lovely historic place of Hitchin you can check the unique and branded shops out along with restaurants and cafés galore. Also the school museum is very interesting but chargeable.
About a 10 minute walk from where the sandpit is in town, you will find the beautiful Bancroft Recreation Ground with a FREE Splash pad for the little ones, this is the perfect picnic location!

👀 A FREE A- MAZ-ING HIDDEN GEM IN BEDFORDSHIRE!
💥WHATSUP BEDFORDSHIRE BLOG...
So this maze is free to go too, kids & adults will love it...... if you can find it that is!😁
🤔SO WHERE IS IT?
This FREE MAZE is located at the wonderful Roxton Garden Centre in Bedfordshire. When you enter the car park you will not see any signposts for it. As you go in the car park facing the garden centre turn right, then turn left as if you are heading for a dead end, it may seem like you are heading for the delivery entrance but there you will see trees on your right and a sign in front of you 'Roxton Maze'.
The maze is located next to the garden centre in a spacious field with a few benches to sit on. At the moment it is being trimmed back due to some hanging branches, we had to duck and dive a few times but it added to all the fun we had.
♿️ IS THE MAZE SUITABLE FOR PUSHCHAIRS OR WHEELCHAIRS?
I would say it is NOT suitable as there are branches, some on the floor and hanging low, some spaces may not be big enough and also the surface may not be suitable in my personal opinion. But the Garden Centre itself is wheelchair friendly.
🔓WHEN IS THE MAZE OPEN?
The Maze is open the same time when the Garden Centre is open. The details are below.
🌺THE GARDEN CENTRE
The garden centre is wheelchair friendly and dog friendly. You can buy things from plants, to clothes, to toys. When we visited on 03/08/24 we saw reduced clothes,suitcases, plants and other various things. So it's definitely worth a look!
☕️THE CAFE
The cafe has hot and cold food and drink options at reasonable prices. There is a kids menu and an indoor & outdoor space with unmbrellas to sit in the sun and relax amongst the outdoor flower section of the Garden Centre. Dogs are allowed but they are not allowed in the main restaurant area. Just ask staff if you are not sure, they will be happy to help.
