👻 Paranormal Investigation - The Old White Horse, Hockliffe
Time: 20:00 - 00:30 Price: £28.70
📖 A RICH & STORIED HISTORY
This remarkable property sits on land tracing back to Roman times. Originally a coaching inn owned by the prominent Gilpin family, it is believed to have been frequented by Daniel Defoe, author of Robinson Crusoe. Its history is as diverse as it is long—serving as a boarding school in the 1930s and even a Tommy Gun range during WWII. With such a layered past, it is no surprise that the energy here is intense.
👻 GHOSTLY ACTIVITY
Current residents have reported unnerving phenomena that will test even the bravest investigators:
▪️The Nursery Spirit: A young girl is frequently seen in the upper bedrooms and nursery.
▪️Poltergeist Activity: Mysterious childlike handprints appear on mirrors, and latched doors have been known to open on their own.
▪️Shadow Figures: Dark shapes flit through rooms, leaving visitors with the distinct feeling of being watched.
▪️Disembodied Sounds: Footsteps echoing in empty halls and voices arising from nowhere.
✨ YOUR EVENT INCLUDES
This is a real ghost hunt experience in small groups—no tricks, just investigation.
▪️ Introduction to ghost hunting techniques and equipment.
▪️ Victorian experiments including Ouija Boards, Glass Divination, and Table Tipping.
▪️ Use of scientific paranormal equipment.
▪️ Lone vigils for the brave.
▪️ Free hot/cold drinks and light snacks included.
🎟 TICKETS COST: £28.70 (including fees)
You can purchase tickets via the event link.
⚠️ IMPORTANT INFO
▪️Ages: 18+ only.
▪️Essentials: Bring a torch and wear warm, layered clothing/sensible shoes.

🎼 Rheinberger Mass in E flat and Gjeilo Sunrise Mass - St Mary’s Parish Church, Woburn
Time: 19:30 - 21:30
Josef Rheinberger: Mass in E flat
Josef Rheinberger, a much under-rated composer, is today probably best known for his set of 20 organ sonatas. But he also wrote a large number of choral works of which his extraordinary Mass in E flat for unaccompanied double choir is generally considered to be his finest. Its antiphonal opening harks back to the works of Gabrieli and Monteverdi composed for spatially separated choirs, with the gloriously rich eight-part harmonies of later movements showing the influence of composers such as Bach and Mendelssohn. The overall result is a work which showcases Rheinberger’s own inventive powers of composition and has been described as “the most beautiful pure vocal mass of the nineteenth century.”
✨️ Gjeilo: Sunrise Mass
Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo (b. 1978) created this 30-minute work in four sections: The Spheres (Kyrie), Sunrise (Gloria), The City (Credo), and Identity & The Ground (Sanctus, Benedictus & Agnus Dei). Gjeilo himself said: “The reason I used English titles, seemingly unrelated to the (mostly) Latin texts, for the movements in this setting of the Mass has mainly to do with the initial idea behind Sunrise Mass. I wanted the musical development of the work to evolve from the most transparent and spacey, to something completely earthy and grounded; from nebulous and pristine to more emotional and dramatic, and eventually warm and solid – as a metaphor for human development from child to adult, or as a spiritual journey.
