🐞 Insect Trail 2025 - Rushmere Country Park

🐞 For the Summer Holiday we have an Insect Trail available to pick up from the Visitor Centre at Rushmere Country Park. Find out all about the insects found in the park as you explore and then collect your reward!

Pick up your trail sheet for £3 in the Visitor Centre open 9am – 4pm daily. All proceeds from the trail are invested back into the park which is run on a not for profit basis.

We’ve partnered with TV’s Taskmaster to set you silly challenges as you explore. Collect your Taskmaster score card and complete your tasks. There might be a rubber duck or two to spot on the way too. Celebrate your silliness with some selfie shots when you reach the finishing zone.

Please note: Alex and the Taskmaster team sadly won’t be doing the tasks with you … which does mean you’re in charge. Questionable. But exciting.

Plus, aim for a hole in one with mini golf, and use your imagination to build your own nature themed play structure.

⛪️ De Grey Mausoleum Open Day - Flitton, Free entry


Time: 14:00 - 16:00

⛪️ The De Grey Mausoleum is attached to the mid-15th-century parish church of St John at Flitton, Bedfordshire. It was first built in the early 17th century, before being expanded in 1704.The mausoleum contains a remarkable collection of funerary monuments spanning three centuries.

📍WHERE WILL I FIND THE MAUSOLEUM & OTHER INFO?
The mausoleum is attached to Flitton Church, St John the Baptist, Bedfordshire and is accessed via its nave. The Mausoleum is not dog friendly and there maybe some uneven surfaces not suitable for wheelchairs.

🎧 Audio tour: There is an audio tour for the mausoleum and we advise that it is downloaded prior to your visit as the mobile network signal strength in the mausoleum and the church is rather variable - click here for information about the tour and to download it.

🅿️ Parking: There is no car park at the church but there is limited on-street parking available on surrounding streets.

ℹ️ Facilities: There are no facilities at the church but there is a pub in the village and more options in either Flitwick or Ampthill.

WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?
🍻 You will find The White Hart on the corner of Brook Lane serving great food from 12pm - 3pm on Sunday's. The pub is also dog friendly.

🚶‍♂️If you carry on walking down the bottom of Brook Lane you will find a lovely walk 'Flit Valley'. There is a Jack Crawley Memorable barn where you will find some history posters and information. 🌺 The Walled Garden - Luton Hoo Estate


Time: 10:30 - 16:00

🌺 From the first Wednesday in May to the last in September 2025, we open the doors of the Walled Garden, Luton and welcome visitors to our unique Capability Brown designed walled garden and its unique service buildings.

🌹 WHAT TO EXPECT
Entrance includes a fascinating tour of the walled garden and visitors are encouraged to break their visit with a picnic or a visit to the Woodyard Café. The garden is best enjoyed at a snail’s pace, entrance is for all day! Notice boards and displays are updated throughout the season allowing fascinating insight into the garden’s rich history.

♿️ ACCESSIBILITY
Every effort has been made to make the garden accessible to as many visitors as possible. With that in mind we have recently finished resurfacing the area around the sundial making it far easier for wheeled access. However, due to the age and rich history of the garden there are some areas that are not accessible by wheelchair. Please inform members of the Walled Garden Project at the entrance and every effort will be made to provide an alternative route, provide commentary on the area, or help with pushing if there are volunteers available. Disabled toilets are available within the conservatory.

Dogs on leads with well-behaved owners are most welcome at the Walled Garden.

Parking is in an immediately adjacent car park with clearing marked disabled parking bays.
Pre-booking is not required. Please note the Walled Garden is not at the hotel entrance.
