Support comes from Surrey based Dead Hombres the Primal Trashy Rock’n’Roll band with howling feedback driven Gretsch Guitar, growling Rickenbacker bass swamped in Voodoo drum beats.
⚡️ABOUT
THE METEORS were formed in 1980 in a reaction to the bands that were singing about ‘Big Green Cars’, ‘Rocking This Town’ and being ‘Rockabilly Rebels’. Preferring their songs to contain topics about vampires, stomping in graveyards and radioactive kids P. Paul Fenech, Mark Robertson and Nigel Lewis soon found themselves all over the media. A media who were eagerly lapping up their new sound christened (thought that is surely not the right word) – ‘Psychobilly’.
THE METEORS were front page news in the weekly music press, recording radio sessions and interviews for legends like John Peel, and gracing the silver screen care of a movie short that did the rounds with the Two-Tone movie ‘Dance Craze’. Their film ‘Meteor Madness’, apart from hosting some crazed performances with the unhinged trio, also featured songstress Lilly Allen’s father starring as none other than the rather exasperated Devil, strange but true.
By 1982 the original line-up had split with Lewis and Robertson going on to form their own bands while P. Paul forged ahead with a free hand with THE METEORS and his idea of how psychobilly should sound. That was a sound that had grown from one of a band’s own personal identity to a world-wide genre that is Psychobilly now over 30 years established and still growing and thriving around the globe. THE METEORS have continued to inspire and influence countless bands while continuing to lead the charge from the very vanguard.
‘The Power Of 3’ is the latest studio album by the undisputed ‘Kings Of Psychobilly’. It is as uncompromising as ever and encompasses all the elements that have always made up THE METEORS brand of ‘Pure Psychobilly’, mashing up rockabilly, country, surf and rock’n’roll. A sound woven by Paul Fenech’s rockin’ guitar and bile-spitting Beelzebub-rousing lyrics. ‘The Power Of 3′ proves once again that despite some aspiring would-be usurpers THE METEORS won’t be giving up that crown anytime soon.

ABOUT:
In the 19th Century the Dining Room at Wrest Park was the site of many private theatrical performances, with the installation of a moveable North Wall allowing for the extension of stage space. Lavish dinner parties were followed by dazzling theatrics. There were 250 guests - the gentry of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, friends and family.
🎭 WHAT TO EXPECT
On the 4th and 5th of April the Dining Room will once again be a site for intimate theatre. The year is 1969.
Ahead of their return to the West-End for a run of Shakespeare’s tragedy ‘Macbeth’, two married actors - infamous for their tumultuous relationship - have invited the cast and crew for a dinner party at their home - Wrest Park.
Text is 95% Shakespeare’s original text with some small creative license taken.
As bottles of wine are emptied, plates cleared, and the script read aloud for the very first time, the line between drunken theatrics and sobering reality begins to fade. Hidden tensions, bitter resentment, and latent desire bubble to the surface as Shakespeare’s story of ambition, corruption, and seduction comes alive, and druidic forces descend upon the dining room and the world of glamour and vice it represents.
🕡 TIMES:
Gates will open at 6:30PM, and guests will enter from the front of the house to be guided through the first floor to the dining room.
Refreshments will be able to be purchased both before and during a twenty minute interval, ready for the play to begin at 7:00PM sharp.
🅿️ PARKING
Parking is available in the Tenants' Carpark from 18:30 - drive past the front of the house and turn right.
▪️AGE: Age guideline is 13+

Whipsnade Zoo wants as many people as possible to be able to enjoy a brilliant day out with them, to benefit from the amazing animals which live at Whipsnade Zoo, connect with nature and help us create a world where wildlife thrives.
To help people who might find cost or other challenges a barrier to visiting Whipsnade Zoo, the Universal Credit tickets provide entry at a reduced price.

You'll need to bring proof of eligibility with you and show this when you present your ticket(s) to the friendly staff at the Zoo entrance. This can either be by logging into your Universal Credit portal or by bringing your proof of benefit letter (one proof per household). To be eligible you must have received a Universal Credit payment within the last month and you may also be asked to show photographic ID.
