🧙‍♀️ Get your broomsticks, hats and magic wands at the ready and venture into Knebworth Gardens this Autumn 2025 for a Halloween Adventure filled with family fun!

🧒 SUITABLE AGES:

This Halloween event will be suitable for little pumpkins aged 3 – 10, and will not be too spooky or frightening.

▪️Session Times: 9.30am – 12.30pm

🎃 WHAT TO EXPECT
This Halloween event will have visitors taking part in a number of fun Halloween activities throughout the Gardens.

👻 Halloween Games
Completing exciting Halloween games such as ‘Hungry Ghosts, ‘Hook a Pumpkin’, ‘Pumpkin Putting’ and ‘What’s in the Box’ in Knebworth Gardens will earn visitors stamps on their Pumpkin Passport. Once full the Pumpkin Passport can been redeemed for a prize. The popular Terror Tunnel will also be back.

☕️ The Garden Terrace Tea Room
The Garden Terrace Tea Room will be open and offering some fantastic Halloween sweet treats as well as a delicious selection of fresh Autumnal soups and sandwiches. You can pre-book a Children’s Halloween Lunch Box and collect from the Tea Room during your visit this will include a Sandwich, Halloween Biscuit, Drink, Fruit and Pom Bears. Priced at £6.25 online and £6.75 on the day.

🎃 Halloween Carving Competition
Bring your pre-carved Pumpkins with you, place them in our ‘Pumpkin Parking’ area on arrival. Judging will take place half an hour before the end of each session. Be sure to take your Pumpkins home.

🧛‍♂️ Fancy dress
As always, fancy dress for all ages is encouraged at this event.

🪙 A prize for every paying child
A prize for every paying child can be collected at the end of your visit at the Gift Shop.

Tickets to the Halloween Adventure includes access to Knebworth Gardens and Dinosaur Trail. The Adventure Playground, Park and House will be closed.

Halloween Haunt is returning to Wicksteed Park for October weekends and half-term with Halloween House creating a hauntingly exciting Chapter 2! There will be two fantastic family friendly spooky walkthroughs to explore with brand new elements that will possess you with Halloween spirit.*

Attractions open for Halloween are Halloween Haunt Chapter 2, Astroslide, Treetop Walk, Rockin’ Tug, Clown Coaster, Meerkat Manor, Wicky’s Farmyard, Pig ‘N’ Putt, Roundabout, Cups and Saucers, Lighthouse, Carousel, Sway Rider, and Wicksteed Park Railway.

🚂 31ST OCTOBER SPECIAL EVENT
For one night only on 31st October, two special Zombie Trains will depart the railway station at 5.10pm and 5.30pm. Limited spaces to this free spooktacular upgraded service are available to book online for anyone purchasing a wristband or family wristband for visits on 31st October only. Book early to avoid disappointment.*

🚂 The Summerfield Line will take you between Haynes End Station and Hammer Hill Station.

TIMES
Trains depart Haynes End between 10:30 and 15:30 (approx.), we close at 16:00.
Steam engines will also be in action as often as we are able.

ℹ️ ABOUT
At Hammer Hill you will have the option of taking a ride on two more of our railways - The Springfield Line from platform 2 and The Winterfield Line from platform 3 - tickets for both are sold at Hammer Hill. 

🥪 PICNIC AREA
The picnic area at Hammer Hill will also be open for you to use, from where you will be able to watch the Garden Line in operation.

☕️ REFRESHMENTS
At Haynes End the Station Buffet will be open for refreshments and picnic tables are available for your use on the grass outside.

We do try to run even when the weather is not at its best, but will have to cease operations should conditions dictate.

This year, The BIG Draw celebrate 25 years with the theme ‘Drawn Together’, highlighting how creativity unites us and how collaboration and connection are at the heart of making.

How would the smell of the Cedar Oak look? Does the sculpture garden look different in the morning to the afternoon? Who knows. Grab a pencil and some paper from reception and find something around the site that inspires you and draw your very own unique interpretation.

We will be using everyone’s creations to form a giant masterpiece at the end of the week!

🚂 Steaming Days at The Buckingamshire Railway Centre

🚂 Steaming Days is when we have a full-size steam train in action, ready to take you for a ride up and down our track! We also have miniature ride-on trains which are run by our sister society VAMES, (there is a small £1.50 charge for this per person – under 3s are free.

ℹ️ ABOUT
The rest of the site is open including the Railway Museum, the Visitor Centre with Gift Shop and Railway Cafe, and the model trains are usually running too. Steaming Days are most Sundays (Easter-Halloween), and also some Bank Holidays and some Wednesdays during school holidays. We have 25-acres of Railwayland to explore! Come and enjoy your local heritage railway!

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome around the site and on the train.  The only area they are not permitted is in the cafe.
