🌱 Planting at The Luton Henge 2026 - Marsh House Community Centre

Time: 10:30 - 14:00

🌱 A practical workshop planting trees and shrubs at the Luton Henge.

🌳 ABOUT THIS FREE WORKSHOP
In this workshop, participants will plant chalk-loving trees and shrub species at the Luton Henge, which are native to the Chilterns.
These species will include traditional fruit trees like damson, apple, cherry, pear and quince. Shrubs will include box and juniper, with other potential shrub species including hazel, buckthorn, spindle wayfaring tree and guelder rose.

These will provide important food sources and shelter for birds and other animals. Should the conditions be right, participants will also plant wildflower seeds.

The workshop will be led by Greg Chapman, supported by Sam Kerr. Greg is highly skilled with years of experience working at Maydencroft. Greg Chapman carries out a lot of tree, shrub and hedge planting for Maydencroft across the country with great attention to detail.

👢WHAT TO BRING
It is likely to be muddy! Participants must wear warm outdoor clothes, sturdy footwear and a waterproof coat. If you have gloves you don’t mind getting dirty, please bring them with you.
Please also bring some indoor shoes to wear inside Marsh House Community Centre, to avoid treading chalk into the building.
