Join our resident lifeguards for two hours worth of fun and games on our fully covered beach.
With plenty of seating for the grown-ups to relax, our restaurant team will bring food and drink waitress served to your table so you can relax while the little ones play. This is the perfect summer treat for everyone!
Any children under the age of 12 months who are attending with an older paying sibling may enter the beach area for free.

A £10 deposit is required in addition on all tariffs. Dont be late back, damage or dirty the boat. Management reserve the right to decline boat hire without reason.

🌸 Shefford Maze itself measures 30 metres square, and 2 metres high, with a 6 metre square centre. It was designed and planted in the summer of 1983 by the owner, John Brindle. Check before you leave on the Facebook page incase of any last minute closures.

✈️ The museum is open on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays only, from the first Sunday in May to the last Sunday in September 2026.

An aviation museum covering the second World War and World War 1 with displays on the RAF and 8th USAAF. Located in the restored Watch Office (Control Tower), the museum showcases a comprehensive collection of photographs documenting Glenn Millers time in the UK.
▪️THE UPPER FLOOR
The upper floor has been meticulously restored to its original wartime configuration, reflecting its history as a RAF night fighter training school. The museum also features an Aviation Museum, boasting an impressive array of artifacts recovered from wartime crash sites, as well as uniforms and memorabilia from World War 2.
We also have a special exhibition on World War 1.
▪️HOME FRONT MUSEUM
Our Home Front display transports visitors back to the 1940's with a recreated street scene and living room.
Additionally, the museum is home to a faithfully reproduced wartime fire station, complete with authentic firefighting equipment. The former armoury houses a unique collection of British and Axis uniforms, equipment, and vehicles including a restored 1/4 scale ME 109 fighter.

Our small Toy Museum features a working H0.00 model railway and a selection of
vintage toys.

Dogs are most welcome on a lead.

ℹ️ ABOUT THE MUSEUM
The Museum is a memorial dedicated to the personnel of the 306th Bomb Group who operated from Thurleigh during WW2, as part of the Eighth Air Force 40th Combat Wing, 1st Air Division.
The Museum is an original building formally used by the 306th BG as a Small Arms Ammunition store.
We use it today to display artefacts to re-create the activities and atmosphere of the airfield and surrounding areas during the war years, as well as honour all those that lost their lives.

🌈 Colourscape - Stockwood Discovery Centre, Luton

🌈 A large walk-in labyrinth of colour and light will fill the lawn at Stockwood Discovery Centre this August 2026. Visitors are invited to don a primary-coloured cloak to become part of the colour experience and step into a new world of intense colour and light.

ColourscapeABOUT
Colourscape is formed of many interlinked chambers of primary colours to create a labyrinth (each chamber approximately 4 metres across). Step forwards and a long view of radiating colours appears. Another step and another view appears until you are surrounded and immersed in the most intense colour and light imaginable. Visitors have described the experience as being like “wrapped in a rainbow” or saying “I felt I could breathe colours!"
You can freely walk anywhere to explore this amazing space and will discover musicians and dancers anywhere inside leading you on a journey of all the senses. The musicians may be found in a large Silver Dome playing unusual instruments - maybe Tibetan Singing bowls or Asian instruments or instruments of water, maybe playing the branch of a tree or a bicycle wheel with a violin bow! And the dancers express the music with creative movement that draws you into the experience.
This is a contemporary music, art and dance event that everyone can enjoy from babies to 100-year-olds!
♿️ Colourscape is fully wheelchair accessible. We do ask people not to come in electric wheelchairs if possible as they often have low-slung batteries that can catch and cause damage. Push along chairs are fine. Motorised mobility scooters will not be permitted.
🌧 Rain does not affect Colourscape - it is lovely in the rain. The only weather that causes us to close is high winds (above 22mph or so). In case of weather-related closure, ticket holders will be contacted with further instructions.
