This is a unique opportunity to experience one of Charles Dickens' most celebrated works in the Banqueting Hall of Knebworth House - a room Charles Dickens once performed in.
Grab yourself a mulled wine and settle into your seat for the Living Theatre’s reading of A Christmas Carol - but don’t get too comfortable, expect characters to leap from the page and Dickens to dance before your eyes as our two actors contend to tell our favourite Christmas story. Seamlessly moving from your trusted narrator to the most fiendish of Dickens creations.
Book in hand, the actors will take you through the laughter, the lows and straight to the heart of Dickens most famous tale. This reading is created for all the family, relishing the words for the most faithful Dickens’ fan to captivating the imaginations of our youngest audiences.

✨️ Lantern Parade Celebrating the Winter Soltice 2025 - New Bradwell, Milton Keynes

ℹ️ ABOUT
The Holly and the Oak King Lantern Parade is a community celebration of the Winter Solstice... the lantern parade starts at 3.30pm at the now disused Bradwell Platform on Milton Keynes’ Railway Walk.
🌟 EVENT DETAILS
The lantern parade starts at 3.30pm at the now disused Bradwell Platform on Milton Keynes’ Railway Walk. From here, the Holly and Oak Kings will lead residents – joined by two Arctic Hares, created by artist Alice Boland-Rhodes – towards the historic Bradwell Windmill.
The parade is due to arrive at the Mill at 4pm, at which time visitors will hear the story of The Holly and the Oak King as narrated by children through working with Milton Keynes artist and writer, Deborah Fielding. Bradwell Silver Band will be performing and hot refreshments will be provided by Coco’s Coffee House.
The event is due to end at 5.30pm, after which time visitors are invited to The New Inn in New Bradwell for mulled wine and cider.

▪️2.30pm-3.30pm: Pre-parade facepainting at The New Inn
▪️3.30pm: Parade to leave New Bradwell Platform on the railway walk to Bradwell Windmill
▪️4pm: Arrive at the Windmill and storyscape

▪️4.30pm: Music at the mill from Bradwell Silver Band
▪️5.30pm: Event end.

😍 FREE: This walk is free but donations to the Friends of Great Linford Manor Park are welcome. No booking is required, just turn up and enjoy!
on the second Friday of the month at 10:30

🚶♀️DURATION: Walks last around 90 minutes.
Sensible, hard-wearing footwear and outdoor clothing is advised.
♿️ ACCESSIBILITY
On one stretch of the route there are a set of deep steps (leading up to the Railway Walk from the Cascade Pond). Please let the walk leader know if you would prefer to leave the pond via an accessible route. One or two park features are located on grass, which can be muddy when wet. A hearing loop is available on request from events@theparkstrust.com.
Accessible parking is located around the Parklands Pond at What3Words location pencil.parsnips.glosses.
