On arrival at the estate, please follow the signs to the Bean Theory Car park. Once parked, walk down the gravel track on your left, below the vineyard. After a 5-minute stroll through the estate, your lifeguard will be at the lake to meet you.

๐บ From the first Wednesday in May to the last in September 2025, we open the doors of the Walled Garden, Luton and welcome visitors to our unique Capability Brown designed walled garden and its unique service buildings.

Entrance includes a fascinating tour of the walled garden and visitors are encouraged to break their visit with a picnic or a visit to the Woodyard Cafรฉ. The garden is best enjoyed at a snailโs pace, entrance is for all day! Notice boards and displays are updated throughout the season allowing fascinating insight into the gardenโs rich history.
โฟ๏ธ ACCESSIBILITY
Every effort has been made to make the garden accessible to as many visitors as possible. With that in mind we have recently finished resurfacing the area around the sundial making it far easier for wheeled access. However, due to the age and rich history of the garden there are some areas that are not accessible by wheelchair. Please inform members of the Walled Garden Project at the entrance and every effort will be made to provide an alternative route, provide commentary on the area, or help with pushing if there are volunteers available. Disabled toilets are available within the conservatory.

Dogs on leads with well-behaved owners are most welcome at the Walled Garden.

Many of the people and groups involved in folk music and dance in the St Albans area get together to perform in the historic setting of St Michaelโs village.

Many of the people and groups involved in folk music and dance in the St Albans area get together to perform in the historic setting of St Michaelโs village.
This year, around 10 groups will dance in open-air shows, while there is live music in the Six Bells St Albans, the churchyard, near the Puddingstone, and, for the first time, outside Verulamium Museum. We even have the church bells at 7.15, to โring inโ the merriment.

St Michaelโs Street, St Albans is closed to traffic from 8 till 10pm, to become the venue for around 32 dance shows, and St Michaelโs Lower School yard is the site of the pupilsโ Maypole.
Music goes on till 9.30 at the Museum, 10.30 at the churchyard, and in the pubs and by the Puddingstone until closing time.

The event is open air so weather dependant, if the weather forecast is unsuitable for the event, the event managers will cancel the event the Wednesday before the event and refunds will be issued for any table bookings for that week.
