🌸 ABOUT STOWE GARDENS
Vanbrugh arrived at Stowe in 1719, working alongside garden designer Charles Bridgeman and commissioned by Lord Cobham, who had just begun shaping the estate after years abroad.
His role was to bring architectural drama to the landscape and help unify the existing house - and although many of his original structures were later altered or replaced, his flair helped begin Stowe’s transformation into one of Britain’s finest 18th-century estates.
🏠 EXTRA AT STOWE HOUSE
Stowe House (not National Trust) will also be offering visitors a special £3 admission (usually £9.50 for adults / £7.50 for National Trust members) along with a selection of events including crafts, workshops and storytelling. To find out more, visit stowehouse.org.
♿️ ACCESSIBILITY
There is an 800m walk from the car park to the garden entrance, with a free access shuttle operating daily from the café to the garden entrance. There is plenty of accessible parking, accessible toilets at New Inn, by the café, and at the garden entrance, plus accessible vehicles available to hire - please phone in advance to book.

The fabulous floating market is well worth a visit. Take a look at the radio-controlled model boats. Possibly, find that perfect gift at one of the many craft and charity stalls.
Maybe, you might take a trip along the canal, on The Milton Keynes Community Boat “Electra” . Which will be offering short return trips from the festival site, for a small fee.

🌼 A beautiful unique garden leading onto the maze. You will get lost!
🛝 Play equipment such as toddler cars, toddler slides.
🥪 A picnic area with a couple of benches, as there are were only a few it might be worth taking a blanket to sit on which we did.

The maze itself isn't suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs as it can be quite narrow inparts and has uneven ground.
