Get ready for a brilliant community day out in Shefford as the town fills with creative, quirky and characterful scarecrows for everyone to enjoy. From classic countryside creations to clever themed displays, this much-loved Bedfordshire festival is a great excuse to explore the town and see what amazing ideas local residents, groups and businesses come up with this year.
Expect a fun scarecrow trail around Shefford, perfect for families, friends and anyone who loves a community event with plenty of local charm. Whether youโre taking part or simply following the trail, itโs a lovely way to spend a few hours discovering all the fantastic handmade entries.

There will also be lots more to enjoy from a Bouncy Castle to Arts and Craft Stalls, Face Painting, Sweet Treats, Ice Cream Joe, Perfectly Pawsome and more. All money raised is donated to the Canine Partners charity.

๐ Free Entry Heritage Day Stowe Gardens 2026 - Buckinghamshire

Enjoy free access to Stowe Gardens and on Saturday 19 September and Sunday 20 September 2026, in addition to exploring Stowe's 250 acres of landscape gardens for free, you'll be able to see inside the Gothic Temple, explore Stoweโs Parish Church and enjoy special access to Didoโs cave.

Booking is advised to visit the Gothic Temple while you are there. You can book here to get your free tickets.
โฟ๏ธ ACCESSIBILITY
There is free accessible car parking available at Stowe Gardens. There are accessible toilets at New Inn, the entrance to the gardens and Stowe House. There are no accessible toilets in the Gothic Temple. Stowe Gardens, Dido's Cave and the church are largely accessible, but the Gothic Temple does require climbing stairs.

We're pleased to be supporting Jordans Mill with their heritage open day on Sunday 20th September as part of our event.
Our free bus services 2 & 2A run between 10am and 4pm, and depart from Biggleswade Bus Station. Buses are running every 30 minutes to and from the mill.
๐ฅ TRAVEL TIME FOR JORDANS MILL
It takes about 15 mins to get to the Jordans Mill from Biggleswade. Return buses take between 15-40 minutes to get back, some take a more scenic route back.

We have 8 page souvenir timetables. They'll go on sale shortly from Cafe Mocha in Biggleswade and 50% of the price will be donated to this community run cafe. We'll also be selling them at Biggleswade Bus Station on the day. 50% of sale proceeds going to support this community run cafe.
