🎭 Bedford Drama Company presents An Evening of Tom Stoppard - The Place Theatre, Bedford
Time: 19:30 - 21:15
🗓 2026 DATES & TIME
▪️17th February - 21st January 2026
▪️Doors open: 7:00 PM
▪️Show start: 7.30PM
The Real Inspector Hound:
Moon and Birdboot, two drama critics, arrive to watch the performance of a new detective play, a parody of the conventional stage thriller. However the private lives of the critics become inextricably mixed with those of the play’s characters until Moon is shot dead and the real Inspector Hound proves to be… ?
Stoppard's play is an example of absurdism as well as farce, parody, and satire. Critics have often praised it as a witty depiction of the reviewer's craft.
If You’re Glad I’ll Be Frank:
To his astonishment Frank, a bus driver, recognises the voice of the GPO speaking clock as that of his long-lost wife. Determined to get her back, he forces his way into the inner sanctum of the Authorities to demand her release. She, meanwhile, still loving him, is almost broken by her never-ending recitation. Underlying the light-hearted story is a satiric comment on man’s servitude to the clock; and a reminder that Time itself is independent of the tick-tock of the clock.
A heap of hilarious characters and a witty script make a satiric comment on man's servitude to the clock.

🌈 Hasbian - The Hat Factory Arts Centre, Luton
Time: 19:30 - 20:30 Price: £13.20
▪️AGE: 16+ (parental discretion advised: plot includes sexual activity and alcohol consumption amongst teenagers from 14-16)
🎭 ABOUT
Beth’s real teenage diary is brought to life in vivid hilarity in Hasbian: a “simultaneously relatable and educational… unique insight on growing up queer in the 90s” (★★★★★ - A Young-ish Perspective). Original animations, inspired by teen magazines, feature an all-star 00’s fantasy cast (in cut-out form), as Beth’s BFFs and first crushes are re-imagined as “played by” the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Natasha Lyonne and Ashton Kutcher.
Dripping in equal measures with heartfelt earnestness, sharp irony, and humour that bubbles up in the place between youthful confidence and pubescent self-doubt, Hasbian delves behind the rollercoaster of teenage life, into the reality of growing up queer in Brighton (the UK’s Gay Capital) under Section 28 (1988-2003 law, prohibiting teaching “homosexuality as a pretended family relationship”). Set to a soundtrack of y2k pop classics (B*Witched, Destiny’s Child, S Club 7), and indie angst anthems (Placebo, Weezer, Garbage) Hasbian fills audiences with buzzy nostalgia, while exposing prejudice in the most liberal of cities.
From the creators of Queer Diary – the night where LGBTQIA+ adults read their real teenage diaries on stage.
❗️Trigger Warning: Whilst the tone of Hasbian is comedic, it is set in the late 90s/early 00s and contains truthful depictions of attitudes, language, and experiences of the time.
❗️This includes: descriptions of bullying with use of homophobic and biphobic language, sexually predatory/objectifying behaviour, and one description of an incident of physical violence. The show also makes critical reference to contemporary transphobia.
🎟 TICKET COST: £13.20 (inc. booking fee)

😱 EVENT DETAILS
Chilling, intriguing and sometimes moving, prepare to investigate a collection of real-life potentially paranormal mysteries, as Danny tries to get to the heart of why we, as humans, continue to have a fear of the dark. Is it superstition? A remnant of our days as cavepeople huddled round a campfire? Or is there really something lurking out there in the darkness?
👽 WHO WILL JOIN DANNY?
Danny will be joined by experts Dr Ciarán O’Keeffe and Evelyn Hollow to examine ghostly apparitions, UFO sightings, a haunted nursery, strange creatures on lonely country lanes, and bizarre poltergeist activity in seemingly normal houses.
This is NOT an ordinary podcast show. This is story-telling and paranormal investigation at its peak. Using a unique backdrop of sound, video projection and theatrical magic, Danny will bring these stories vividly to life with the help of Ciarán and Evelyn, plus input from you the audience, as you get the chance to ask your questions and share your own experiences.
As always, whether you are #TeamSceptic, #TeamBeliever or somewhere in between, everyone is welcome.
😱 So... do you dare to enter the darkness?
