Our wild swimming experience is perfect for solo adventurers, couples, and families alike. Whether you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life or simply want to try something new, our experienced and friendly team (including an open water lifeguard) will be on hand to help you make the most of your time in the water.
PLEASE NOTE:
โช๏ธIf youโre new to wild swimming and planning to start in the cooler months, we recommend you attend our โIntroduction to Cold Water Swimmingโ Course.

โช๏ธPlease note dogs are not allowed at the lake. Thank you for your cooperation.

60-minute Wild Swimming (swim only) session ยฃ10. All sessions include a hot drink by the fire pit. You can book via the event link, you will find different session times available.

โช๏ธDo you have changing facilites?
We do not have changing facilities at the moment, but they are coming soon. Many swimmers opt to change underneath their dry robe, or you can change in the Tipi if its available.
โช๏ธDo I need to bring my own two float?
We have some tow floats available to borrow if you donโt have your own.

โช๏ธWhat if the weather is bad?
We will still run wild swimming sessions in the rain, however for safety reasons the session might be cancelled during adverse weather conditions like thunderstorms and gale force winds.
โช๏ธAre there toilets at the lake?
We have one portaloo at the lake. The nearest other toilets are at Bean Theory, our on-site coffee shop (approx. 10 minute walk up the hill)
โช๏ธWhat should I wear for wild swimming?
Everyone is different, so please feel free to wear what feels comfortable for you, be it a swimsuit or wetsuit. Water shoes or socks can be helpful on the lake floor. Please also bring a towel and warm clothes.
๐บ GETTING TO THE LAKE:
On arrival at the estate, please follow the signs to the Bean Theory Car park. Once parked, walk down the gravel track on your left, below the vineyard. After a 5-minute stroll through the estate, your lifeguard will be at the lake to meet you.

Accessible parking is located around the Parklands Pond at What3Words location pencil.parsnips.glosses.

The garden is best enjoyed at a snailโs pace, entrance is for all day! Notice boards and displays are updated throughout the season allowing fascinating insight into the gardenโs rich history.
โฟ๏ธ ACCESSIBILITY
Every effort has been made to make the garden accessible to as many visitors as possible. With that in mind we have recently finished resurfacing the area around the sundial making it far easier for wheeled access. However, due to the age and rich history of the garden there are some areas that are not accessible by wheelchair. Please inform members of the Walled Garden Project at the entrance and every effort will be made to provide an alternative route, provide commentary on the area, or help with pushing if there are volunteers available. Disabled toilets are available within the conservatory.

Dogs on leads with well-behaved owners are most welcome at the Walled Garden.

Parking is in an immediately adjacent car park with clearing marked disabled parking bays.
Pre-booking is not required. Please note the Walled Garden is not at the hotel entrance.
