Homegrown is a new writing festival, showcasing local talent by staging an evening of original, 10-minute short plays, featuring local writers, directors, and actors.
This festival’s theme is PRIDE and features 10 short plays inspired by this theme – including stories about LGBTQIA+ Pride, hometown pride, pride in your heritage, pride in your identity, and even what it means to be ‘too proud’.
The plays were selected from over 100 submissions, via open submission and chosen by a panel of readers including Adeyinka Akinrinade (Producer & Actor, Riches, Amazon Prime, Champion, Netflix), Teresa Burns (Award-Winning Writer for Stage & Screen), Dana Hudson (Theatre Producer) Lucas Murphy (Actor, Call the Midwife, BBC).
